Not the JoJo "menacing" sfx. XD

I didn't have time to get too far in rn, but I LOVE THIS. The use of theme! The puzzle platforming! The premise is so silly! Already enjoying it deeply, will continue playing later! For now, have your rating!

"Right-click to sacrifice yourself."    "...I hope you didn't do that twice." XD

Cool idea. I liked having multiple people per level. I don't think I've seen anyone else do that

I'm not uploading a devlog because its too scary, but I just made the first patch live. Reworked movement, stuff like coyote time, variable jump, etc. Added some more minions to earlier levels, added a settings -> control rebind screen, and tweaked a whole lot of little stuff. There's also a fun little opening animation. No new content.. but I have ideas. Let me know what you think ^^

Very fun, very simple. Sometimes the levels could feel very punishing, but in my opinion that makes it better:0 Good job!

The unique swapping body mechanic was very cool, and it really intrigued me as I believe that this game has great potential once its fully fleshed out.

I liked the swapping body mechanic!! I also loved how it wasn't bodies that you stood on but rather hats! The character was a little difficult to control and I got frustrated with it after a while.

Thanks for playing!! Im working on a little post-jam patch of little tweaks, hoping to fix some small bugs and make the movement more fun!  ❤️

Submitted(+1)

I can't wait to play the post jam patch!! I'm going to save it to my collections now.

Amazing little platformer, love the clever body swapping mechanics and level design. I see a lot of potential for this to become a larger game with more mechanics.

Submitted(+1)

Well executed and you could easily extend on this idea. I feel like you could add some subtle coyote time, as I found myself falling off the platforms before my jump was registered. Overall, well done!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice and fluid body swap mechanic. Could definitely see this get expanded with more and more levels and mechanics with the use of the bodies! Also really like the cover art! Well done!

Submitted(+1)

That was a lot of fun. Really like the "switch between bodies" concept. Great job!

Really Fun. I did have troubles with controls. I'm not a big fan of using W as jump. Wish Space was the Jump button. And wish the starter levels had at least 1 extra minion, because I felt there was no room for error. Which makes sense at later levels.

But I do love the mechanics, and the strategies that are needed to pass the levels

Really good concept! Not biased at all... Came here from your review of DeathBed, and yeah, we ended up on really similar concepts! But I think your game's way of doing it is much more platformer focused, and that's awesome! I think you have a really cool piece of work here. Believe me, I know how hard it must have been to get a game like this working! Great stuff.

This game absolutely slaps, this executes the theme perfectly! I'd like to see more interaction with the mechanic, and more environments

but overall very good game, and perfect representation of the theme!

Developer (1 edit)

God, I know. The one like 11 tile tilemap I made is doing a lot of work LOL. I definitely wanted to do a lot more, and variation. The levels didn't even have a background until the last 3 hours X_X. Thank you for the feedback ❤️ (I just found out how to use emojis on windows) 📝📝📝❤️❤️1️⃣👌💕😍

the concept is really cool, at first its very interesting and fun, but with each next level its less about figuring out solution and more about technical execution. overall great.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Yeah I wanted to go for a kind of mix between interesting puzzle and "hey theres multiple ways to do this, be creative!" but with the time crunch it kinda just turned into "oh god find a gimmick and spit out the level as fast as possible!" Thank you so much for playing and feedback!

Submitted(+1)

yeah i know what you mean, dont sweat it, my game got mangled and cut even worse due to time constraints.

Submitted(+1)

This concept is SO GOOD and fits the theme really well! Had to give it 5 overall stars 😍 The levels are really clever and challenging. Are you thinking of further developing the game? 😁Would love to play more levels or even a multiplayer version of this

Developer (3 edits) (+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words. Further development is certainly on the radar but I have infinite other cool ideas to try and build too! So many options >.<. We spent a considerable amount of time concepting ideas so I'm glad you like what we decided on! Thank you for taking the time to play our game!

Submitted(+1)

Yay how fun!! I'm excited to play more of your games. I would love to collab on something in the future :3

Nice concept! I think there was a little issue with the hats where if you stood on them they would slowly get pushed down which made for weird behaviour, but otherwise very nice !

Developer(+1)

Yeah the hats buckling under weight was an intended feature but we barely bug tested it X_X. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Nice game., enjoyed playing playing to the end.  Here are some potential improvements / issues I found:

  • Damage hitbox could be slightly smaller to not feel as unforgiving.
  • When you die there is a sound effect that seemed to pan from center to right.
Developer (1 edit)

That's a great idea on the hitboxes, we scoped a little big, so there was not a ton of consideration for mechanics that 'worked' lol. Sounds for sure were a last minute add (thankfully) and Ill look into the buggy location, I don't normally use headphones and didnt think to test them.. Thanks for playing our game and thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I could have really used some spare bodies on some levels lol. I suck at platformers so I almost drove my fist through the screen when I fumbled the last jump. You really nailed the theme implementation for this one.

Developer (1 edit)

Oh my gosh! Sorry the game got that frustrating lol! Thats a great idea to add surplus minions so you can kinda just f around and find out. Bug testing level exits was a hassle for me as well since I also suck at platformers. :sob: Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Fun little platformer, the level design is good for a 4-day jam, if I could make a suggestion, force the level to restart once too many characters have died to complete the level, if I die too early its not always immediately obvious if I've soft-locked the level for myself.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! We certainly should make it more forgiving especially with longer levels! We considered a few mechanics like revival but couldn't get to implementing anything. Thanks for the feedback!
