Very nice, great intro and the sound effects are top notch. Great job!

I like the idea of the game, I only don't like to repeat thing often. But it has potential.

Reminded me a lot of the rock tunnel in gen 1, cute vibe and art style!

Love the premise and the oppressive atmosphere, though I have to say it gets quite tedious having to redo the first few levels every time you die. I know that's part of the point and setting, but from a gameplay standpoint, I think a shortcut every few levels that you can unlock for future runs would make the trial/error aspect a whole lot more bearable, especially if you're going to have instant kills like the trapdoor spider alien and the vines (at least, I think the vines are instant kill). I don't think I saw any hint of the vine either, which made it extra unfair imo. On a side note, you seem to have "always run" on by default, which is probably a result of your config.save being uploaded alongside the project. Since stamina is an important resource, I think it should be something that players can more easily control instead of having to hold down shift to walk. All in all, good work still!

I really liked this game one of my favorites of this jam! I’d really like if you could check out my game as well!!

I super enjoyed the gameplay of this! I loved the exploring for the next entrance down, it kind of sparked a sense of Stardew nostalgic for me for trying to rush to the next path down as resources dwindle.

The animations, atmosphere, art, and ui, are very well done!

You guys did great for only five days!

Nice concept, the intro was interesting to read the first time - gave Lord Farquaad vibes a bit! It could do with some hints that things are interactable - I didn't realise I could drop in the hole and got a bit stuck on the first level haha.

The hud and storyline are really good. I like the idea of exploring the same place again once you know what certain things do.

get the idea making you feel alone in an unfamiliar place. You really nailed that atmosphere, especially using GameMaker. I genuinely felt that sense of isolation.

The only issue is that after death number seven, I gave up. It just kept going, and I was hoping something new or interesting would show up, but it didn’t.

It’s a really good concept, but for a game jam where players are testing lots of entries, you need to show your best stuff right away. Otherwise, raters might skip it too quickly. 😕

Liked the idea, like the art and Especially loved the story. I'm a big fan of space.

But I'm sorry to say, I didn't enjoy the game. I turned it off before the end because I was doing the first 3 levels over and over again. I accidently pushed a bolder in The Mantle Level down the corridor of another bolder. Which got me stuck and had to restart. And at the end, had no clue what I was doing (Which is the point because of the mission). But means that there is a high chance of dying which means I had to replay previous 4 stages twice. Because I needed to kill off one of the dudes to pass a level and that only lasted for one guy. Plus it got tight when it came to oxygen. Did see that there is a plant that gave oxygen, but I was hesitant since every other plant was killing me.

I think it can be greatly improved if the plants that ate the player, so the next player can walk on top of them. Stayed in that state for the entire game. Which means if players died at the end, they can just go back to the end level without worrying about anything else. And if they happen to die, that's on them. Also bread crumbs would be nice. But that could either be by choice or time constraints.

Enough of the Problems and lets get to the good bits.

Level design is smart, like how later levels got more paths and confusing. Giving the feeling of pressure when you get lost and start to run out of oxygen. There are lots of mechanics that were implemented for a short amount of time. Plants that explode, plants that eat the player, plants that give oxygen back, moving boulders, climbing walls and of course the dying and coming back to life (Technically). Sound design sounded great, felt immersed in the environment but also had that 8 bit feel.

I'm sorry that I wasn't to play at the end, especially the amount of work that you put into the game. But I hope this review helps. I don't want to leave a bad comment and make you feel bad, but also want to be honest. Hope this helps.

It’s nothing to be sorry for; we’re glad you enjoyed some of the mechanics and yea we understand it’s very tedious to keep continuing back to where you were, we were hoping to go through and add side paths that you unlock as you get deeper but we unfortunately didn’t have time. Appreciate the feed back tho, even if you didn’t enjoy thank you so much for playing. (Additionally the plants that block your path can be killed permanently if you push a boulder on top of them.)

Very creative, I liked discovering all the little ways to bypass the obstacles, but it does get kind of annoying making it all the way back to where you last died, but that's just a thing to do with my own impatience. Really does keep you on the edge. Good job!
