Thank you for taking your time to rate! Here's our game! We underestimated the scope of this game a little bit but we are proud we could still complete most of it and get a submission going. Most things that we planned at the start are implemented but there a few things we would like to improve and add later on after the jam, like more enemies, more weapon types, elemental damage, more levels as well as some bug fixing (for example the waves aren't counting correctly in the UI). Overall we had a lot of fun developing this game (and countless sleepless nights xD).

You control the Messenger of Death and must fight wave after wave of enemies, you can make your journey easier by collecting their souls, which you can use to buy upgrades, such as more attack speed, a better jump, higher critical hit chance and many others. However, you must sacrifice your life to get these upgrades, you'll start from the beginning if you do this, but your upgrades will remain in your next life, giving you a better chance to deal with the waves of enemies.
