The main girl Hisako is a magical girl nurse, who can offer up parts of her body/mind to heal others!
Which theme(s) do you pick?
Phantom Pain
How does your game fit those theme(s)?
Hisako experiences a sort of Phantom pain as she loses parts of herself to her job, though (more literally) there is a ghost/phantom patient and a lot of pain in the game.
If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
We did not!
Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Some shaders were used from Godot Shaders, otherwise all assets were made during the jam.

My friend this is so dark..................................
Thanks for submitting!
… Who hurt you? 😭
The game just pulls you in as a player, because Hisako is just so likable and cute… and then you throw the brick at them by not giving any positive ending option!
But yeah. It was a very good game. It just hits you as a player, because you desperately try to replay to safe her… but then you realize that you can’t, because she herself won’t let you.
The character dynamics were also really interesting. Grandmama seemingly not wanting the magical girls to die, after her own mom gave her life for a patient. While the mom is just keeping crucial information from us and generally seems either gaslighty or like she has an ulterior motive in the way she talks. “It’s the greatest honor to DIE for your patient.” WHY?! Why did she tell her that! Nooooooo! 😭
Which also makes it sadder, that Grandma is the first person Hisako forgets.
Good Job. You definitely managed to get the player attached to a very high degree with the overall combination of sound, writing and visuals.
(Those gore sounds… were literally bone crushing! No, no, no… we’re not making skeleton puns… mh, mh, definitely not.)
this game is so messed up u hear the cute music in the beginning and the cute aesthetic and then you realize it's all over at the end. very cute art! very dark too!! I feel the mom was up to something i can't help but suspect her... poor Hisako ://
I really liked the aesthetic of this game! The character designs were amazing
This was a fun playthrough
I enjoyed the prose and writing quite a lot; the scene where the main character is looking back into the mirror without her teeth stood out particularly as evocative and strong, I also quite liked the description of the tiles as "a crimson mirror" due to the blood
The concept of giving parts of yourself away to other people in order to help them is a really good theme to focus on, especially implementing it into the magical girl genre concept; I like it quite a lot.
The decision making felt a tad forced towards self-sacrifice(which makes me wonder if it might have been more effective in third person maybe playing as the mother or something?) but I still enjoyed it quite a bit and obviously it was kind of required to tell the story from the main character's perspective (though I do feel that perhaps the player input was a tad limited for what it is)
Loved the game, the themes are right up my alley too 😈
Excellent atmosphere, solid enough gameplay loop. Good use of sound and visual design, and excellent commitment to the central theme.
Solid presentation all around!
This game is a whole vibe! The art is really cute and writing is really morbid, and they compliment each other so well. I really love the how the music changes over the days too. Really good job!
Very cute, very dark. Great writing!
I think the transparency of the portraits/dialogue was rough, when it overlayed the black bars/white background. Less opacity would probably make it less jarring.
Don't really have any feedback besides that it's a lovely sad little story with really nice presentation! Good work everyone involved :)
Adore your thumbnail!! Here's some feedback I had during my playthrough!
Immediately I was impressed at how much world building you got done by (the examination of) set dressing!!
The music eventually ended after taking final patient of day 1. Also, music eventually ended while idle on day 2; started back up when next client came in. Just some overall music looping issues.
As days progress, the decline in music tone immediately changed the mood! Very clever, and smart reuse/extension of asset for the theme of this game. The increasingly discordant, layering of the keys when Hisako gets more tired is great touch.
The contrast between the severe heavy moment of choice and the pink adorable graphics is so thick that it's palpable. Love that you all were able to create it in such a short amount of time. Good Job!
I'm an overall huge fan of the art, and art style!
Extremely well done on all fronts. I only have minimal gripes on this game that really aren’t even worth mentioning. I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but by the end I found it very engaging. The writing is well thought out and the character designs were honestly incredible. I especially loved the scarecrow’s design. Taking into consideration that basically every part of the experience was made during the jam period really inspires me to achieve this level of finality and quality with my projects.
Congratulations on completing this project!
