Hooray for rhythm games! I think pairing music with the detective theme was a nice choice. I was a bit thrown off that the characters are not overlayed onto the background (hopefully that’s not just a bug on how it’s loading in my window?). Some reformatting of game elements, like using the space effectively and making the sprites scaled to around the same size, could make the game look more polished. Nice job!
Nice work, the background and character art is really good and I enjoyed the music and sound effects. The rhythm game portion is neat and I can see a lot of effort was put into making that, unfortunately it ran too quickly on my computer for me to fully enjoy it. I also couldn't follow the story that well but the characters and dialogue were charming and overall I had a good time :)
It was cool. I like the story and character and 4-th wall breaking. I am not a fan of the RNG in the rhythm sessions and I don’t know if I did well or poorly or how does that affect the game. I love the concept of a detective story with a mini-game that dictates your “dice roll” sort of speak. Feels very Undertale to have that mix of characters, narrative and a mini-game to decide outcome.
Great work! Hope to see a post jam version.
I like the idea; it's definitely unique, and the dialogue takes its time being fun without too much of the feeling that I just have to click through text boxes (as someone who isn't a visual novel person). The rhythm sections need work, as I try to press a note, and I think if I'm even just a hair late on a note, it tells me I missed a note halfway up the staff and deletes it out. Also, based on the dialogue, it seemed like the rhythm parts were supposed to happen during the cutscene, especially as the main character says in the third scene, something like "Because we already did the rhythm part!" when I hadn't done the rhythm part yet. I don't think that the game is supposed to end how it does, with a text box at the start of a scene that says "Indubitably Indeed bold bolditalic", and starting an empty song chart, but I thought it was funny. The rhythm sections are fun, I have respect for y'all for getting ambitious with the unique game mechanic mashup, and yeah I mean it needs polish imo but overall it's a good, fun game.
Nice character design, had trouble with the notes in the rhythm game going at the speed of light, I think it's because you tied the game's speed to the frame rate
Had a bug where when we got to the white body outline area and the rhythm game got pulled up it crashed I think
loved the character design!
Very good design and characters! Game is also very fun to play.
Rhythm game was good, you do have to pace yourself and sometimes it is not very visible in certain conditions.
Story is very sweet and short, loved the breaking of fourth-wall :D
Cute game, loved the character arts! The game is really fast though and there's like no time to react to the beats/ it also doesn't scale correctly on different sized monitors.
I love the character designs!!
Hey played the game and I had fun with the story and rhythm segments! I do wish that the glass was more in time with the beat of the song but the music itself was good and I liked the sprites!!
cool pastel artstyle
Loved the design and music.
