Nice one, love the art, havent quite read the instructions but was able to figure out 2 recipes by trial and error. Great execution, congrats!

Developer

The fact that you, and some others, have managed to figure out the recipes without reading anything makes me so happy! Thank you for playing and trying Some Stuff!

Great take on the theme. It was a bit finicky to guess what the customers wanted based on the thought bubbles alone, but after a couple of attempts I got it down to a solid three (3!) satisfied customers!

… I mean, I never said I was good at this job.

Good fun though.

Developer(+2)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The third tab of the notebook has the current order the witch is working on written down, if you ever want to try again in the future! Three customers is SO good going off the pictures alone. You sound like you are great at the job!

OH! And here I was just cooking on vibes. I thought those were just all the available recipes, like a cookbook (and that the list was bugged because it kept changing <.< ) That makes it so much easier.

Edit: I tried it again and got 6 / 7 satisfied customers (yay!), though 3 of them just wanted raw bone. Sister, this whole helltown is full of degenerates.

Developer(+2)

LMAO? 3 of the same "dish" being ordered on the same day is crazy chances too that's hilarious. Thank you for trying it again! You're tied with the most happy costumers - I think it might be impossible to get 7/7 with how fast the day is haha.

Love both the title and in-game music. Really gives off that cozy vibe. Cute and charming game overall! May I ask who does the music?

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Edit: All the music was made by our friend Sukitoru! Their discord is @docedisc :D

This was super cute to play!! The art is amazing for such a short time :)

Developer

Thank you so much!! LotusArts and I had a lot of fun working on it!

Submitted(+1)

Was not expecting this one to be cooking related.  Very smart idea

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

So happy to have found a cooking game! super clever use of the theme, and all the minigames are so so cute.

Did I mess up the recipe 3 times in a row? maybe...

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! After hearing the theme the idea jumped out at us haha

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game, and great use of the theme :)

Developer

Thank you so much <3

this was super cute!!! i love all the details and all the things you can do, this is really impressive for a four day jam!!! id looove to have a little recipe book on hand because some people (me, im talking about me) are slow and forget everything hehe. but i adored the visuals in this!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! We added a little recipe books to one of the notebook tabs but sadly ran out of time to make more pages haha

Submitted(+1)

Very nice visuals and cozy vibe. Would love to see more of this!

Developer(+1)

This was our first game jam together but through it I got some of my art friends on the hook for game development! So there is a very real chance you may see more of this in the future....

Thank you so much!!!

Nice game, took me a few trys but I managed to give 3 plates, with 1 happy customer. Good job and great art!

Developer(+1)

Lotus and Lenaly did an INSANE job with the art especially with the short time span they had. They worked super hard on it to the point I was drowning in it.

1 Happy customer is better than no happy customers!!! Glad you liked the game <3

Very cozy cooking game, sometimes a bit confusing (took me a while to find the meat source lol), but considering the time constraints, it turned out great! The vibe kind of reminded me of Stardew Valley.

Developer

AHH!! Thank you so much! I wish I had more time to implement a tutorial in but I'm so glad you got the hang of things.

I'm a HUGE fan of cooking games. I love this!

Unfortunately I didn't manage to bake anything (how does the oven work?) and the timer is pretty unforgiving xD

Developer

Ah! You need to click on the grates and they'll open, allowing you to drag the bone/flesh inside! Then you click the grates again and they close to cook haha

Thank you for playing! The timer was accidentally too fast lol - made it more of a speed game than we were aiming for :D

Submitted

Arf maybe the web build has a little bug. I tried dragging the bones after opening the grates and it just wouldn't work, until the timer eventually ran out D:

Adorable little game! Minigames could have used some more sound or visual feedback for if you were doing stuff right (like sizzling the frying pan). The text is a little tough to read in the web version, and considering there's a lot of it, that's kind of important. Fullscreen doesn't actually fullscreen the game so that's worth looking into. Also the music doesn't stop when the day ends so it overlaps the main menu music. Nitpicks though! All told though I enjoyed it a lot! I probably would have done better if the travel distance wasn't so great between the restaurant, the kitchen, and the cellar, or at the very least if the kitchen was inside the restaurant. But I just need to, as the kids say, git gud. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your review! We really wanted to add sound effects (and better how-to's for everything) but sadly ran out of time. After the game jam ends we are definitely going to go through and polish it! Oh yikes yeah, on the web version the full screen button that works is buried under a different full screen button that doesn't for some reason. Thank you for letting us know!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely! I do really really like what's here, don't get me wrong at all. There's a lot of potential!

Submitted(+2)

Very cute little shopkeeper type game! I liked the little detail of the smiley face on the knife, made me laugh. I didn't do a good job at keeping up with customer orders but I still enjoyed the premise and wow there was a lot of moving parts to this. Kudos to the coder!

Developer(+2)

KUDOS TO THE CODER (TINUP)!!!  The day moves by accidentally super fast, so don't worry, keeping up wasn't on you! I bet you were a great chef. Thank you so much for trying out our game!

Developer(+1)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! There was a TON to get done in the time and I sincerely tried my best to get done what I could. I even had it where customers would leave a mess behind but unfortunately I had to cut that as well as some other unfinished content out. I think if I had just one more day I could have polished things up so much better.

This would have been equally impossible if it wasn't for the amazing work of the artist as well!

Submitted(+2)

Oh yeah absolutely! Coders bring artist's work to life, and artists bring the visuals to make coder's work into a world. And man I really felt the "if I had just one more day" part, I feel the same way. Great job on what you accomplished!

Submitted(+2)

That was adorable! The mini-games were so good for a game jam! Honestly, I suck at cooking IRL so I didn't expect any Michelin stars, however, that did not stop me from enjoying myself while messing up their orders! HAH!

Developer

LMAO thank you so much for giving it a go! I don't know how Tinup managed to code all of the mini-games on top of everything else, he worked crazy hard on 'em. I'm so glad you liked them!

Submitted(+2)

Neat game, love the sound and feel to it. Great art. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Awe, thank you so much!

Submitted(+2)

Art is adorable, and the whimsical music is a great choice! The gameplay loop is nice too, though it took me a moment to figure out some of the minigames (I didn't realized you had to open the grate in the oven at first!), and I wish the game paused when you opened the notebook so I can take my time reading it. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for checking our game out!! Making the minigames easier to understand, and pausing with the notebook, are both things we're excited to add after the game jam! The time crunch got us sadly haha <3 Thank you again!!

Submitted(+2)

Loved the art style and the mini mechanics of the kitchen. Also the music and the background added a nice touch!

Developer

Thank you so much!! The minigames were so fun to draw (not so much for our programmer to implement haha) <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!!

The stove minigame drained the life out of me as it was my first time working with 2D so the layering issue was hard, but fun, to solve!

Glad you enjoyed C:

Submitted(+1)

Pretty fun game! A bit hard to get the instructions though for me, but after  that, it was fun to play. Also nice music and cute art!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! Making the instructions more clear in the future is first on our list for stuff to fix haha <3

Submitted(+2)

It was cute and great fun, even if I suck at the game.

Developer

The game is accidentally really hard - it’s our fault not yours haha! You don’t suck, thank you for playing!
