This was very hard, but in a good way! I'm not one for platformers (I'm bad at them), but this one was enjoyable!
Thank you very much!
controls were a bit laggy but I REALLY love the art
Could you explain how? Do you mean genuinely laggy as in low frame rate, or just sluggish?
Very cool puzzle platerformer with really unique mechanics. Very hard though! Understandable, as game jams leave very little time for playtesting, but with proper time and playtesting, this could be something great. Well done, and I'd definitely recommend keeping going with this!
Thank you very much! I hope with some more instructions and tutorials, that we can make some really cool things!
Thank you! We're so proud of our artist!
Art style is really nice, platforming mechanics of swapping gravity and platforming with the dash are cool and fun! A found it a bit tricky and got stuck in situations that required me to die and restart, e.g. see screenshot, would be good if there was a way to recover from mistakes. A couple of times on that level I had the dash show up in a wierd place above the spikes that meant I needed to die to reset the level. Shows real promise!
Hey! Thanks for the feedback!
If you press ESC, you can choose to die or restart the level to prevent softlocks or reset a puzzle. The boot will always update to the next location you die to an arrow, so if it's stuck in a weird spot, simply die again! However, if anything becomes unfixable, you can press restart to do a full reset on your current level. Hope this helps! Also, you could fix this by pushing the arrow dispenser and getting crushed by the block. This actually should help with the puzzle too.
ohhh, I didn’t realise the dash power-up was spawning where i died, haha, that makes a lot of sense! Thanks!
No worries at all! We plan to make these mechanics much more clear in the future.
What a cool premise! I really liked the game’s idea, the visuals, and the interaction shakes — your project turned out great, congrats!! It feels really nice to play and quite polished, I love games like this.
If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun

Thanks for the kind words-- Sure, I'll give it a play.
Fun platformer and cute game. Puzzles were good and music and sound really fit well. Good job!
Thank you! I did the sound design and soundtrack; it's so rewarding hearing kind words like this!
I really like it, music is a banger, and I like the implication of the background a lot! Looking forward to seeing more
Thanks, I did the music! Your game was fantastic!
Thank you very much! I loved your game too and I'm glad you checked ours out as well! I hope we can meet your expectations down the road!
Very cool concept and puzzles that really fit the theme, this would be so fun to play as a full game! Beautiful pixel art and music, too, especially given the time. I'd love to see different biomes, colors, etc.
Thank you very much! If possible we'll try to exceed your expectations if a full game ever comes out!
this was interesting!! i think better starting instructions on what to do would seriously go a long way for some players, it wasnt until i exited out of the game and saw the additional controls on the itch page did i realize they were there and went back into it. the music and visuals were lovely, i especially love the animations for the mc! shes a cutie.
Thank you very much! We were crunched on time, but tutorials are certainly on the menu for if we expand! Also very glad you enjoyed the visuals and music! They were made specifically for the jam!
I think the ideas here are good but a lot of the controls are awkward (specifically the grappling having no indicator) and it is not obvious what the player should be doing. Visuals and music were great! Mechanics were also the most interesting part of this, but they need to be conveyed to the player better (i.e. a boulder smashes you in the opening and from that you learn how the gravity mechanic works).
I fully agree! Some of these levels of polish we didn't get to yet, but are totally planned if we take it a step further. We'd also like to expand on the tutorials as well! Thank you for the feedback! I'm really glad you liked the visuals and music because they were custom made for the jam! Thank you!
I must be missing something. I keep getting stuck on the second puzzle with the arrow trap and the dash boots.
I don't want to say too much to avoid spoilers for anyone reading but the main goal of that room is to get the block to crush you! There's an intended way but people have found about 2 alternate methods as well. If you need any more help feel free to ask again.
It's a hard game for sure, but we believe in you!
I love the art and music! The puzzles were really satisfying once I figured out what everything did.
Thank you very much!
This really bubbles my casino. Keep up the good work
Thank you Bubble Casino man
Wow, I really like the dubstepy music and pixel art. The game feels really polished. It's insane how this was made in 5 days
Thanks a ton! We wanted to do more, but we definitely were crunched for time.
This was really fun and had some tight platforming. All I ask is just for the tiniest amount of coyote time and it'd be 10/10!
We are strongly considering adding this feature in a future update. Thanks for the suggestion!
From the audio to the visuals and to the gameplay. It was all so wonderfully executed for a gamejam. I am usually not great at platformer/puzzle games, but this one I loved! It's rewarding figuring it all out.
I can totally see this game leaving itch.io :)
Wow, that means a lot! For someone who doesn’t typically like the genre, nice work, this is not an easy puzzle game.
It looks really swell! If you make a full game I'd recommend making the player a bit faster and adding some coyote time, but the theme, music and just general vibe is great!
Thank you for your kind words and feedback, we’ll keep this in mind! 🫡
this was really engaging, the puzzles were fun to solve and the music is boppingly spoooky
Death is an opportunity, to solve puzzles in a nera way!
Thank you for your support!!
the Nera way is the best way 🫡
I'm probably not part of the intended audience for this, but I can appreciate the interpretation of the theme and the general visuals and polish! Good job on that front! (Maybe I'm just not smart enough for it based on the other rave reviews🤣)
No worries at all! It’s a hard puzzle game for sure, if you ever need tips we can always give hints. We appreciate the support!
