Super unique idea. Never thought I'd ever play a halloween-treat-stealing-cat-impersonation-memory-roguelike. Yet here we are!
The art is very very good, though the different art styles (like the dithered backgound art with non dithered cat art) do make it just a little inconsistent. It's not that big of a deal though, still looks amazing.
The gameplay loop would be fun even without the roguelike element, and with it it becomes even better as it adds a layer of strategy to it. It has a good all-round polish as well. Nicely done!

Brilliant idea and very nice artwork! The upgrades system is really neat too. Thanks for joining the jam :)
click the butthole to see credits haha, great touch. fun original game. I got a black screen near the end aswell.
I everything was cool, but when I bought the first night vision upgrade after maxing out the others 2 houses later the entire screen went back with just the music playing the background. Maybe its there is a limited amount of levels but figured this would be helpful to note.
The art was great and I liked the song, more songs would've been nice, particularly as I got towards the end (like a faster song to make me feel rushed).
It's awesome that you were able to include progression in the form of upgradeable skills.
This game is a really enjoyable entry for the Spooky 2D Jam β25. The visual design is great, with a spooky atmosphere that feels fun rather than overly dark. The gameplay is simple but engaging, easy to understand and enjoyable from the start. Even though the mechanics are straightforward, the idea feels fresh and slightly innovative, which makes the game stand out.The roguelike progression works really well, giving players meaningful choices through evolutions and upgrades. This adds replay value and keeps each run interesting. Overall, itβs a small but solid game that is fun to play and has a lot of potential for future development.
