THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!! Everything across the board -- art, audio, puzzle / level design, writing -- are well beyond quality that I'd expect out of a game jam. I have to commend both the unique choices that make the game memorable, but also the cohesion of game elements working together (environmental storytelling supporting the written characterization of the uncle supporting the puzzle mechanics!) I would LOVE to know how the ending camera work was done, so wild and trippy but awesome! Loved this so much!
This fit the theme extraordinarily well! I had some issues with movement, specifically using the arrows, but clicking does the trick. Would have preferred WASD movement, but that's just a preference and the system you have works well. I got to the end and appreciated the aesthetic, but all the while didn't really understand what the objective was (apart from finding the next clue) or what happened to my character. I hadn't even heard of The King in Yellow until the theme was announced, though, so that might be why. The voice acting is a really nice touch. The game feels very polished.
I loved the puzzles!
Great narrative, awesome visual aesthetics you have going on, and a very unique experience. Camera system was really good for the most part, but had a few places where there were so many camera points where it was frustrating to turn at times. Even then its short enough that its not too big of a deal, and the restricted perspectives makes it a bit more tense. Visuals were really cool, but most of the time I couldn't really make out the environment in the dark. Awesome entry guys
Wow! I love it. What a vibe. The models are soo cool. The atmosphere really sold it. I did find myself wishing for a fully keyboard controlled movement, not fluid, as I think the locked camera angles are required, but something to let me quickly move in cardinal directions.
Loved the atmosphere and pacing! Really delighted but confused by the ending, but the Myst style traversal added so much to the setting!
I had a bit of an issue moving around, many times I would have to click a direction 3-6 times before it would actually move in that direction, but overall still had a good time
The visual quality of this game is pretty unique ! also looks very polished, I played it but I am not good with puzzle games so I couldnt complete the game.
THE DAY HAS COME
REEEEALLY loved the vibe here. I'm a big fan of old school PC adventure games so this one was right up my alley. The music and voicework were a fantastic touch that really came together in the final sequence to make something really neat. The only thing I couldn't quite get the hang of was the movement. There were some times where I wanted to turn a certain way but just couldn't for whatever reason. Luckily I was able to power through with some spam clicking and patience lol. I think the mood was really well done and the house was really tightly designed, but i will say sometimes the dark shader got in the way and made it hard to tell what I was looking at. I think the "flip" on the shader in the last sequence was really neat, though. Fantastic work everyone!
Thank you for playing all the way through! We're really proud of our look here.
I know exactly what you mean about the turning! It's because of the unbounded math on the way turning works, it has to finish slerping to the target before you can turn again. Was a wishlist item, we'll get it in the 1.1 release!
