The doggo thing is really cute, I like how it and the enemies are blasting those white stuff at each other.
Nice! Like an old beat em up game! I liked it! fun art too, great submission!
I made a video of your game. It's at the start of this video.
Nice short beat-em-up, very on-theme for the season haha. I liked the visuals and music a lot, the combat was pretty fun although the kids were easy to kite.
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the visuals and music, we really wanted to lean into the Halloween vibe.
Haha, yeah, the kids were definitely a bit too easy to kite this time! I’ll keep that in mind for balancing in future projects. Appreciate you playing!
Nice and short game. I think the best way to beat the game is by hitting them, then retreating a little bit and hitting them before they get a chance to hit you. It was hard to see where the candies landed when I KO'd the enemies that were standing near the bottom of the screen, but I still had a good time beating the game.
Thanks a lot for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!
You totally nailed the best strategy. I appreciate you pointing out the issue with the candies near the bottom; that’s great to know and something we’ll try to improve in future projects. Really glad you had a good time beating it!
Very Cheeky game although a good few things missing like a floor sprite still founds it easy to play and fun! Well Done!
Yes, I enjoy fighting for candies. Artwork looks good even though each got only one frame, a bit more rotation and scaling would be better. The combat is pretty much move and attack, but it satisfying to see candies explode out.
Thanks a lot for playing! It was one of our first times doing the artwork, so I really appreciate your notes about rotation and scaling, I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future projects. Every candy explosion was worth it in the end! :D
Awesome, it’s like stealing candy from a child ;) Good job finishing your game, and thank you for supporting controller input!
Stealing candy from kids was exactly the vibe we were going for ;)
Glad you enjoyed it and happy to hear you appreciated the controller support! We wanted to make sure it felt good to play either way.
I like the concept, and I do like me a good beat 'em up.
But it feels a tad.. Flat? Like it exists and that's about all it does, sorry to say..
Although I will add, the candy working as both your HP and points is interesting, I like that.
If nothing else, I give plenty of credit to you for making a game in just a week, that's a big ask of anyone and you did it, well done.
Thanks for taking the time to play and share your thoughts! I'm glad you liked the concept and the candy idea.
I totally get what you mean about it feeling a bit flat, there's definitely room to add more depth and energy. Making a game in such a short time was quite the challenge, but it was a lot of fun.
Well I'm glad it was fun, that's what matters at the end of the day really.
They don't deserve the candy, but I do, thus, I take it from them, as I should, and eat it in front of them.
