Listen, any game which let's me jump in front of a truck and die, is a game I can respect. Truly, a game with it all.

Ok, but for real, I loved the jitter-effect you had in the 3D objects, rarely see something like that and it was fun addition to the visual style, fit well to art style too. Some text were bit too fast for my slow-ass, but I feel I managed to figure it out even if some text did fly by me, good tutorial otherwise I feel. My only real fight was with the door, which I managed to constantly open in a way that pushed me behind it and away from actually getting inside, the door might have won this round, but I will be sure to remember this grudge. Anyways, good stuff, good work!

Glad you enjoyed! I do love the jitter effect but actually found I couldnt put it on everything or else it wouldnt look great so its only on some things and its very uneven cuz i kinda got distracted half way thru... like how the board will jitter through the wall while the keyboard or printer will jitter a bit while the trucks and license plates will stay still. I guess i'm too fast of a reader or maybe it just gets easier once you know what it's about to say or smth... idk ill definitely lengthen the text timing haha. ngl i came across the door thing in my testing too but it reminded me of old roblox games and i decided to keep it lol. Thanks for the feedback!

What a cool little game! Really captures the feeling of being alone late at night in a small toll booth just waiting for trucks to pull up. I strangely enjoyed watching the lights get closer from a distance and it was really nicely done with the visuals, The jumpscare was pretty funny and I liked that everyone else also tried standing in the middle of the road too. I do wish there was a bit more things to check other than the registration and weight. Cool game overall and well done!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad it's atmospheric. I too enjoyed the lights getting closer from a distance and so as a result I spent like 30 minutes on making them look good lol. I'm really glad I was able to do a clean jumpscare too, since it was my first time even attempting one that's any more complicated than a png showing up infront of your camera lmao. standing in the road seems to be a popular thing to do haha.

real talk tho, im thinking of possibly expanding the game (not sure) to include things like cargo manifests and trailer searches n stuff but like... idk. not sure whether its viable lol.

Anyways, thanks for your feedback!

Really great idea! Paper, please, but weight station. Everything else feels polished, too. The horror is a bit light, though, imo.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Glad you appreciate the polish. Unfortunately didn't have time to populate it with many scares after it was all said and done lol

Cool concept, I like this take on the "spot the difference" formula. The atmosphere was really well done too!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the atmosphere lol. put some effort into it

Very solid game, the way that so much time passes without anything happening was really helpful in building suspense, also the ability to just stand in front of a truck for no reason to get a game over is really funny. I will say, though, the amount of time it takes for the next truck to get to the stop is a bit too long, I ended up finding myself scrolling through my phone until I heard a truck pull up

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you appreciated the daily trucking highlights. And with the time between trucks... I totally agree. I think after the jam I'll probably reduce that time from ~20 seconds to maybe like 3... maybe have em come out the ground too for that added pep. Thanks for playing!

Very unique concept with some good little scares! Great atmosphere, always had me on edge wondering what I'd see next. I loved that I could step in front of the trucks as they'd approach and they would honk at me. Great little touch. Only suggestion I have is to make it so you get the ending without having to interact with the orb. I didn't interact with it and thought it was bugged since I expected a truck to come, took a few seconds before I realized I had to interact with it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I actually had the idea to add a little timer at the end that upon timing out would kinda nudge you in the right direction but it musta slipped my mind when it came time to code the end lol. Glad you appreciated the honking, and thanks for the feedback!

It was genuienly creepy and i rarely feel this way in case horror games. It's like a unexplainable story told by a reliable grandpa. Excellent!

Thanks for the feedback! When I submitted it I was certain the game was like that one spongebob gif (Coaxed into sponge on rollercoaster : r/coaxedintoasnafu). Glad it was able to give a nice creepy vibe lol. Thx for playing.

One of my favorites from this jam. Simple but fun gameplay loop, I was in a flow state by the 4th truck. I love the visuals, especially the look of the computer UI. I love how you can get run over lol, I stood in the middle just to check and I was FLAT. Excellent build up to the scare, really great job utilizing the gameplay to direct the player's attention. I found a bug with the web version tho, my cursor seems to persist if I alt tab once even in fullscreen. This makes it so that you can't turn around cuz the cursor is capped to the side of the screen. An easy fix tho just letting you know.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad the gameplay is at least manageable lol. I'm a real sucker for those orange monochromatic gas-plasma displays (🤓) that they would use in the 1980s and when I finally got an excuse to put one in a game I just had to take it. Glad I remembered to add the ability to get run over, haha. It was something I thought about at like 4AM one of the last days and went "oh yea that does happen in real life". Unfortunately, though, I didn't think of the possibility that anyone would ever unfocus the web version lol. Guess I'll fix after the jam. Thanks for the feedback!

This was great! Well polished and nice mechanics. My main gripe with the game is it's quite long and the mechanics are repetitive - maybe introducing a new mechanic could help with this, or simply having less trucks. I thought the audio was great and the game was eerie. The computer was awesome and I enjoyed mastering giving people fines haha. I wasn't paying attention enough when I was prompted to read the license, so I didn't know what to enter in the computer - I think having the first driver say "you need my license plate or something?" could help dumb players like me take the hint twice ;)

When I restarted to figure out what to do, I sped through the dialogue and upon exiting the truck driver dialogue my camera got disoriented and the rotation messed up, but it only happened once! I thought the ending was a little fast after all the buildup, but the concept is intriguing and I like the subtle world you made. Really good job for a jam!

Also lemme know if you need assistance with the itch page or anything :)

Wheyyy thanks for playing! It's been a busier weekend than I had anticipated so thanks for putting up with the bare page and also thanks for the offer lol. Your insight was quite helpful as usual, and I took advantage of the extended bugfixing deadline to fix everything you told me about (and a bit more lol). Thanks for the feedback, can't wait to play yours!
