I laughed at the torch smoking me out when walking, got got, scream was super jarring. I liked it! I think the torch smoking out your vision for sure could count toward the trick side of the theme. Well put together, great work!

Thank you for playing. Yes the torch in the face is an intended feature to aid in suspense. Short time did affect the game build but an update is already ready and another will be published with issues mentioned in the comments.

Very interesting game idea! I tried to change the mic sensitivity settings in the menu but wasn't sure if anything was actually changing. I think the game should display how many logs you have currently because since the game is so dark and there is no feedback (like a sound effect) when you pickup a log, I probably backed into one without even realizing it. Speaking up doesn't light up very far and its only for a moment.

Some things I would change or add.

I would change the volume of the monster's footstep to be based on how far away it is from the player.  I noticed the screen shakes does this already, which is great!  I would also stop the sound and the screen shake when the monster stands still. The torch fire is constantly in the way when you move to the right, I found myself always strafing to the left to avoid it blocking my vision, not sure how to avoid that but wanted to mention it is a bit of an annoyance.

Great observation, and the torch in the way is intended. Both sound and screenshake are coming from only when the monster walks, that too when it lands its feet, I will definitely go back and see what I can do for the sound, as it's already was supposed to be spatial 3d.
I ran outta time so some obvious feedback like log count and such are missing but the next build will have it. "Speak to see" mechanic will be polished more to have better vision.
Thanks for playing.

The torch's visual effects obstruct the view a lot, and the screaming does not give the player much vision as well. Playing the game very quietly gives you much better survival chance. It needs some balancing on that I think. Good mechanic but not a polished game in my opinion. 😊

Correct, I had to rush due heaving a late start. I have polished the microphone issue almost perfect and the Build is ready to publish, just waiting for Game Jam locks to go away.
I will work on aesthetics more to better employ the "speak to see" mechanic.
Thanks for playing.
