Nice work on the audio as always! I liked the addition to dash in mid-air, made traversal more interesting than a simple walk and jump platformer. I was unable to proceed once I got the door with the Up arrow! Not sure if that's where the game ends.
Might help to enable the full-screen button option on itch! The other QOL improvements like checkpoints and coyote time as mentioned below will be nice too!
The pixel art is really charming, and the music is fun :) I do think checkpoints would help, as it was a bit frustrating starting from the beginning each time. Overall though, very fun game!
Thanks for the feedback, that's a great point. I didn't implement a checkpoint system because I assumed it would be short enough, but that's definitely something I'll work on next time.
i like the pixel art of the game also the audio is good, is very chill game at start
Hey! Solid submission!
The graphics are pretty and the music is good! I do agree that a checkpoint would make the experience way less frustrating haha (going all the way back is super sad).
Besides that, nice work!
Some of the controls feels a bit clunky, I think, could use some coyote time, while jumping I couldn't attack on the way up, being able to hold down attack would also have nice. I also think the hitboxes are a little off sometimes. But it is a functional and complete game and it was fun enough, which is an accomplishment in a gam jam.
Going back to the beginning each time is pretty brutal, haha. Not necessarily bad if you're going for that, but it can get a bit repetitive.
The varying pixel sizes makes it feel a little un-cohesive
The music is cool, I really like the underground track. And the little bits of dynamic music was awesome.
Thanks for the feedback. Coyote time is a very good idea, I'll keep it in mind for next time. It was my first jam as the sole coder (or coder at all for that matter) so having something playable at all was the goal
You did a great job, and I think I may have came across more critical than I intended, but all the you got all the nuts and bolts together. I was just suggesting some seasoning. So to speak.
I am not good at platformers but I gave it a go... lovely little graphics and I appreciated the audio!
I liked the audio a lot! I feel like the platforming could have done with some coyote time maybe as I kept falling haha
