This demo was super neat! My favorite part were the visual effects / material work. The color glowing cubes that built the world were super nice. I honestly wish more games use this sorta idea. I’ll have to learn how to do these sorta effects too!
Nit picking, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the microphone stuff. It’s a super cool idea, but I probably would have enjoyed it more if it was synced to the music or player movement or rotation speeds. After the first room, I was essentially just singing a solid tone throughout my playthrough which probably wasn’t your intention. Regardless, awesome idea though!
Regardless, this was a super great and neat demo! Super nice job folks! Keep it up!
Yeah, the microphone idea didn’t turn out to be the best. On the last day I was thinking about adding footsteps and ambient sounds that would also affect the world, but it was too late to rework it. Thanks for playing!
I saw your project using RTX, and I totally forgot about that category! I should’ve joined it too, I was using just Lumen + Niagara instead.
Had to mess around with audio settings and unplug stuff to get it to register my microphone, but once it was working the game was super cool concept honestly. Love the games that use other sense to play them, voice is such an underrated tool for game developers. good stuff!
It's weird, the game should use your system's default microphone. I’m glad you managed to get it running in the end.
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words!
Took me 7 minutes due to me falling into the lava saying I hate platformers LOL but honestly pretty neat. I think my favorite voice thing was voice pushing the boxes, would have loved more of that!
Haha, I totally get that. Balancing difficulty is tough when you’ve only got a couple of days.
I really like the voice-pushing mechanic too. Too bad I didn’t have time to add more fun stuff like that.
Thanks for playing!
4:03! Fantastic entry. I've personally haven't played a game like this before. Narration of my experience was the key! Thank you!
Thank you! I really wanted to make something truly unique and experiment with Niagara effects.
It’s an interesting concept, but just talking into the mic isn’t for everyone, but as a periodic mechanic, it seems to work quite well!
Really appreciate you playing!
