We understand that the recent technical issues with third-party tools and platforms may have caused some inconvenience. To ensure that everyone has ample time to complete their amazing projects, we’ve decided to extend the 2025 Epic MegaJam submission deadline by an extra 24 hours.
The new submission deadline is now October 24 at 11:59 PM ET. Your projects are the heart of the Epic MegaJam, and we can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy jamming, and remember, your creativity is what makes this event truly Epic.
What is the Epic MegaJam?
Work alone or with a team (up to 5 members total) to make the most incredible project in Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite based on the given theme and submit it before the deadline!
The game must include custom gameplay that exceeds the gameplay found in Epic Games’ starter templates.
All art assets in the game must have a material other than "DefaultMaterial" applied to it.
Submissions must be packaged for Windows, MAC OS X, Android, or iOS (development build)—no full, unpackaged projects. VR and AR projects are are also accepted. Android games can be distributed via the Play Store as well.
How to submit
We'll be kicking this one off and announcing the theme during the livestream on both Twitch, Youtube, and LinkedIn on Thursday, October 16, at 2 PM ET, with the theme being announced at 3 PM ET. The jam ends on Thursday, October 23, at 11:59 PM ET. You will need the following information at the time of submission:
Team name
Each team member's name and email address associated with your Epic Games account
Game name
The name of your submission
Please format the name of your .zip file with your team's name attached, ex. TeamName_GameName
List any content that was created before the jam that was included in the final submission
Submissions must include a link to gameplay footage (between 30-60 seconds) demonstrating recorded gameplay
The footage will be included in our highlight reel on the 2025 Epic MegaJam results livestream
If you're using UE to create your game, when it comes to submission, you need to submit here, on itch.io. > /jam/2025-epic-megajam

NOTE: In order to submit your game to Itch.io, your .zip file must be UNDER 1GB. This won't affect most projects, but please be mindful of the size of your game once compressed. If your file is more than 1GB, you may utilize the Butler tool to upload your files to Itch.io. More info on that is here. Also, check out Blendo Itch Uploader, a GUI for uploading projects to Itch.io.

It is worth noting that while the 2025 Epic MegaJam is open to both UEFN and Unreal Engine-created submissions, a team can only submit to one, and each has a separate submission pipeline as defined in the submission criteria in the Official Rules seen below. If yours is a student team, this team should follow the pipeline defined by the tool used (UEFN or Unreal Engine).
Any potentially winning entry can win up to one (1) category, which includes both the primary categories and the Modifier categories providing the criteria of said modifiers are met.
The 10-year anniversary of MegaJam is a momentous occasion, and to celebrate, we bring you a special selection of theme modifiers, chosen from fan-favorites over the years.

How does the theme modifier work? You can use the 2025 Epic MegaJam theme (Here we go again), or you can opt to use one of a selection of three from the past. Regardless of which you use, you will still be eligible for the primary categories and the modifiers.
During the submission process, you’ll be asked to specify the theme you used. If you incorporated a theme modifier, it's crucial to indicate this; otherwise, we’ll assume you based your game on the primary theme.
Rest assured, the judging process is fair and transparent. Games with the best use of each of these themes will be considered theme modifier finalists and, as such, will be featured in the winners' announcement livestream, the winners' announcement blog, and the 2025 Epic MegaJam finalists' sizzle. This is separate from the other categories, primary or modifiers. However, the best game using “Running out of Space” could win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd spot in the primary categories, and is still eligible for modifier prizes, if they meet the criteria.
Judging
Qualified Submissions will be reviewed and scored (1-5 point scale) by a panel of qualified judges, according to the following criteria:
Unique Use of Contest Theme (Up to 5 points)
Fun Factor (Up to 5 points)
Visuals (Up to 5 points)
Level Design (Up to 5 points)
Audio (Up to 5 points)
Gameplay (Up to 5 points)
