I liked this game! there is definitely some work to be done for performance on the second reality, I assume the walls were made with one model repeated across lines? I feel like Godot didn't like that. but overall it was fun!
Thanks! Yes, it was wall × 250 on the map lol. Since the jam, I've learned a thing or two about optimization blender assets in Godot, so as I move forward with this project things should be better.
I do love the concept of switching between two worlds/realities, and it fits the Black and White theme really well. Big fan of the minimalist art style too, and the audio was a nice touch, although it would have been cool if the creature emitted some noise in the dark world so you could hear it coming.
The gameplay itself felt a bit limited, but obviously I understand the 72 hour time constraint! I think you could easily expand on what is there and polish it up into a really nice little game if you wanted to continue development :)
Thanks for playing and the feedback! I'm working to expand the game to have more obstacles and tools to push players to swap between worlds while making it scary to do so 😀. Also tinkering with the monster and how to enable it for the best player experience, so I'll keep your thoughts in mind!
I found the bug that causes inverted controls and superspeed and it is pretty funny. Overall an interesting game. I like the switching between realities and the detail of the steps changing. Reminded me a lot of Fran Bow if you've ver played that.
That's hilarious, I can't wait to see it myself :). I forgot that Fran Bow existed lol, but I get what you're saying, I might just go play it again to get more inspiration . Thanks for playing!
i don't know what to do, but i started having inverted controls and moving at lightspeed, pretty fun bug.
I think your copy was just haunted dude. I'm planning on building this project out fully, so I'll ghostbust it eventually. Thanks for playing!
Cool game with interesting 2 worlds mechanics, nice entry ! :)
Thanks!
I really enjoyed the concept of toggling between the worlds and having to navigate both simultaneously. The visuals were as little too stark and high contrast for my taste, but that's only because I had to frequently switch back and forth. Causes some pretty severe eye strain :D overall, really cool idea.
Thanks! If I build this out further, I'll be sure to add something to reduce the side effects, like a filter.
Cool game! This one got me scared, my only complain is that is a little bit confusing at first.
Thanks! I had an idea to make a simple introduction to the mechanics, but ran out of time sadly.
I really like the idea here, good atmosphere and things like the footsteps echoing in the dark world adds touch. Good job, be sure to rate mine (:
Thanks! Your submission was interesting! And thanks for the shout out in the discord :)
This is super fun, confusing, but in a pleasantly intriguing way (and probably less so if you're a bit more literate than i tend to be), the visuals are awesome and the overall game feel is great.
Thanks! I usually like to add a tutorial or something similar in game to remove confusion, but I spent so much learning modeling I couldn't fit one in 😅
The changing of the environment is a creative gameplay element. Loved it
Thanks, probably my favorite part of the project tbh!
