Very nice, and quite challenging. :)
I've beaten the game after a while with 0 deaths and full HP despite everything. :D
10 / 10.

10/10 game, 15/10 skit beforehand. I would never have been able to appreciate the beauty of John Adventure: Demise of Hope Killer if I had not seen the skit beforehand. I pity those who will not be able to experience it themselves.

Unfortunately I was not able to complete the game (if there was a dedicated end screen) as I had a massive skill issue (and there seemed to be some issues with collision causing me to take damage with no enemies around?) but it truely was a John experience. Fantastic work and I look forward to what John Industries Inc brings in the future <3!!

This game looks good, and I really like the aesthetics, but I honestly had no idea what was going on or how to play. Also  the assets look really weird but this is probably an export issue so I'll ignore it lol

John has arrived rejoice

I'm not quite sure if there's more beyond the first room that I was unable to find, but what I did experience was a lot of fun! The title screen was very charming, and the performance beforehand even moreso. However, one thing that I'd love to see is implementing some amount of invincibility frames after damage, since there were a couple times that one attack hit me three times in a row and I instantly died. Overall, I really enjoyed it, though!
