when can i start working on the game

my first jam and im a roblox dev so i have no idea what im doing but like when can i start working on the game and what do i export it as? also what do you mean if i want to include it in the full game thing i have to export it in github, wouldnt that mean people could just copy my work if i win and its put on to steam?

Roblox will not work for a real game jam- Roblox is a platform, not really a game engine so nothing can be exported. My recommendation (Especially with the current state of Roblox's management) is to make an attempt to learn a real engine. Not saying Roblox Studio isn't powerful, I've tinkered with it a lot- But it's not really viable as an engine or for experience beyond the very beginning. Recommend Gamemaker for 2d, Godot or Unreal for 3d. It will be hard at first but it pays off!
