Okay so first off I'm going to echo that I understand it's an unstable build, nothing is set in stone yet, and they're still working on it etc.

Now. I've only been playing for about a month so I don't have the same amount of experience as some other players. So please excuse me if any of my gripes are just me not knowing how to play; I would appreciate tips and constructive feedback, in such a case.

I really like a lot of the new features in 0.9. Compared to 0.8.2, there is a lot more game in the game, Alpha base looks much nicer and functional overall, and the daily tasks are much more engaging.

I don't think the new day speed is as much of a problem as people are saying; I think that getting upgrades should give you more time to do other things during the day. But early game, the activities now fill up so much of your time that it feels like you have to have played previous versions to know how to keep all your plates spinning, so to speak. For instance, the new coordinate minigame is a really interesting way to change that mechanic, but now I spend so much extra time waiting for the cooldowns and getting frustrated when a signal disappears before I've had a chance to call all of the triangulation coordinates. I think one thing that might help is if the quick ping and the coordinates had separate cooldowns.

Also, using floppy disks to download the hash codes in the arrays is much better than having to write them down in your notebook, but I spend a lot more time overall waiting for the download to stop failing. That part isn't even fun, I can't leave or do anything else while I wait for them, I just have to step back and fold my arms, maybe step away from my computer to go get a snack or something. If you're going to insist on that, maybe significantly decrease the chances of it failing.

And oh gods the trash. There's so much trash in this update. 0.8 was interesting with the trash because it took a while to clear it, but it was still manageable. Here the trash feels like an exercise in acceptance. What am I supposed to do with all this??? I can't pick it all up and turn it all into scrap. Putting it all in the incinerator is going to take way too much time. So far my only solution has been to sweep all of it outside and forget about it. If anyone has any suggestions about what I should do with it, please let me know because I feel like I'm missing something.

That all being said, I really do like the direction the game is going. It's very clear a lot of time and thought has gone into this update. I look forward to the stable release.

Buy and insert a server upgrade (which can be purchased from a store for 25 points or produced by sourcing materials) into the server. It reduces the probability of hash code failure.

So 600 points / whatever amount of scrap to upgrade all arrays once, in which case it will still frequently fail and you are still stuck doing nothing else but watching the screen... Yeah this needs to be reworked. I don't mind the direction it has taken, just give us something to do while it loads. A better solution might also be to have it take a flat amount of time that takes less as you upgrade it. The RNG is just too frustrating.

It's not about upgrading a server on the base, you don't have to.

Alpha, Delta, etc... Upgrade the servers on the satellite. 75 points are needed for a full upgrade per server.

Servers that have completed three upgrades have a near zero chance of failure.

I hope it helped you.

Never said anything about upgrading the base servers. 24 arrays x 25 points = 600 points for lvl 1 on all arrays. That's 1800 points for full upgrade on all arrays. And again, then there's still heavy RNG so you could still be waiting a few minutes for each hash.

The problem with the Server Upgrade solution is that new players aren't going to know that. Heck I didn't know they were craftable at first myself until a friend told me about it, and I've been playing this game since.... I'm not sure which version. Back when the base only had one floor to it (not counting the one room down the ladder). And even with server upgrades the wait time seems to still be based on RNG. I've had a satellite with three upgrades still running into multiple errors, I've had a satellite with no upgrades only take like four tries to finish.
In any case having the player just wait around now for a semi-random amount of time feels far less engaging than the old Hashtag system. I feel like this new system could work better if there was some form of player interaction involved apart from just typing "sv.request".

I personaly not like new system , for 2 reasons
1 its very rng heavy , in 1 time i waited 10+ minutes (im not kidding 2 ingame hours on 0.5 speed) on 1 server , i spend more time on that server then anything else i done that day
2 it removed interactivity , im dyslectic so writing 3 seperate codes was not ideal but i felt engadged needing to type each out and then recheck it, sometimes in fear something will eat me while i do it/hearing spoky stuff
now you just type code command , no tension no egadegment

data , drives and zip drive is nice and maybe it could be used for something else in next update but i personaly think that change is not ideal.

What are people doing about the trash? I honestly don't know what to do with all this shit lying around. Last update I took it all and turned it into scrap, but there's an innumerable amount of trash in this update. What fucking bomb went off in Alpha base???
