Big kudos for giving me the reload button lol. Putting with the butt is also VERY welcome, thanks!

I think the first area is new. Also - scripting for the jumpscares in the first areas is very predictable, I think I managed to trigger all 3 jumpscares on the third floor in quick succession. Maybe it should be randomized?
Reached the 4th floor with the golf ball enemy. It feels like a very curious change of direction, I don't mind it at all. I would've loved it, but I don't like horror.

I think I encountered a bug at 16:10 in the VOD when trying to exit out the putt.

Other than that - good stuff man, keep it up!

First time playing the game.

The golfing is actually kind of fun. I sorta forgot I was playing a horror game and that I was aiming the business end of a shotgun towards my face. That might be a bad thing depending on what you are going for, but the golf works.

The only issue I encountered was that the ball clipped through the ground close to the hole in the first round of level one and I got softlocked. However, I didn't have the same problem after restarting and it was only the first hole so it wasn't a big loss.

Someone else already commented this but saving should also save level progress. It doesn't change the gameplay any since it's basically the same as saving the game at the start of the next level.

However, I admit I'm biased because I have mixed feelings on limited saves as a whole. I've always found them annoying more than anything, and anger is an excellent antidote to fear.

Keep up the good work.

Made it to the 3rd floor, then had no idea what to do with the fish slope. I guess I should do something with shooting, but I cleared everything before with putt mode only, so I don't really know when I should be using shooting over putting.

Some obstacles require you to shoot but not all and the shotgun is also for enemies.

Video Feedback

The game gave me motion sickness so i wasn't able to give it a fair shot.
But the sound design needs a lot of work and you should probably make tutorial areas brain dead easy. I tried to putt, got into putt mode and didn't know how to actually swing. I think doing 1 level per mechanic would help get rid of a lot of initial confusion.

The tutorial tells you exactly how to Putt in putt mode even shows you a video. I don't understand how you can miss that.

If you get motion sickness turn these off

  • head-bob
  • Camera smoothing

If you can't hear the sounds try upping the audio volume 100 in general settings

Scatterbrained feedback as I play:

Still controls like you're walking on ice. Do you need to decelerate so slowly?
I prefer putt mode to shooting. It's more precise and easier to predict. The aim line in putt-mode is slightly misaligned from the center of the ball.
You can enter putt mode while the ball is still moving and it'll roll away. Seems unintended.
Saving only saves what floor you're in and not your in-floor progress? I saved before entering the third floor and found myself back having to do the second one. I guess next time I'll only save if I'm down to the last ball? imo just get rid of this save system and give the player checkpoints, nobody wants to do the same minigolf courses over and over and it cheapens the creepy elements.
Still has the same problem from last time where not having a barrier towards the player means the courses that start uphill will waste your whole attempt because the balls rolls out of bounds.
Standing in fish seems to drive my guy mad with stress.

I added the save system because of feedback. With a checkpoint on each level means that there's no fear of failing because you can just die and restart the level. You're supposed to save when you enter the floor since the save is always next to the elevator.

Also you aren't ice skating, it's a small camera lag on movement. Currently only camera rotations lag can be disabled but I'll make it so that you'll disable camera movement lag as well.

Comparisons to Buckshot Roulette are inevitable. It is same, but I do believe visuals and creepy setting differentiate it enough to succeed. Incorporating elements of horror into mini-golf was a great idea, with few missed opportunities, for instance chopping block should've been a blade. Spoken that the tone of the game is consistent and captivating. The one negative thought I've got was the velocity threshold for going into the hole, too many times my ball magically jumped over, when it should've fell. One suggestion - in order to have player pay attention to ammunition, you should give it out after successful round, in order to increase the tension and make each shot count a little more. Although that might not work with hostile NPCs.

All in all, great game.
