Seems to be better optimized. Very fun, as usual, but I'd like to second the comment below - I need more shit. Either more levels, more bots to fight or more trash in the office level.

Slowmo is cool, but making the swings seems to be harder in that mode cuz I feel like they retain less force? But it's a very cool addition.

I NEED MORE CONTENT!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the concept of the game, i'd say the basics are all entirely here, now all that's needed is a bit more content (Levels enemies and some new mechanics to spice things up, could be per level gimmicks etc)

Something i saw with the office level is there's not a lot of danger to the player, something to make the destruction harder would be nice, although i'm sure you're already cooking up some stuff.

Tutorial needs some work (visually) as said in the other comment, maybe texturing it to be in cybespace so you don't have to use a lot of time getting the textures perfect could work.

Anyways, good stuff, really excited to see what will show up in the next DD

thanks a lot for playing it, in a finished level in the main Kludge mode, as you destroy more things and rack up property damage, robot security forces will get progressively more difficult with something like a wanted star level. there's going to be tiers of robot security that start simple and get more advanced ending with robot swat teams with guns and riot shields etc. there will also be an arena mode and combat focused survival mini games. levels will be re-playable with a time attack, levels will also have hidden puzzles, sub missions and quests you can complete for unlockables.

i'm curious, did the swinging feel responsive or overly clunky? i'm still improving it as much as i can.

The swinging felt great, if you wanna make it fancier you could add some swishing sound and visual effects. So you can gauge how hard you're swinging the thing.

Developer

yea i'll be doing a big effects pass in a bit also, more particles and visual indication on everything. thanks for playing, i hope i can flesh it out quite a bit more for next DD

Metalarmsian Kludgekino.

  • I get an actual GMI vibe from this game, and I'm serious about that. (I expect a 1% royalty for recognizing this potential).
  • Main menu is amazing. No notes, great job.
  • I don't like the central swing mechanic's controls. What I would prefer, and maybe this would actually suck, is if you just hold the button to ready a swing, and then move the mouse in the direction you want to move the bat. I understand it might get weird since you also aim by moving the mouse, but maybe it's worth a try. Intuitively, when I move the mouse to the right, I expect to swing to the right
  • When playing in first person, rolling over small objects feels bad (it launches you up way too much). I realize that's because of Kludge's wheel, but still, it feels bad.
  • I feel the tutorial is pretty weak, visually at least (might be placeholder, I know). It feels amateurish, especially compared to the fantastic main menu.

the 1:1 swing controls you suggested are how they worked in roek, i might add those back at some point, im going to add a force pusher that moves things out of the wheels way when i get a chance. the wheel is an actual wheel so it behaves as one would. the tutorial was rushed i will flesh it out when i get a chance. thanks for playing!
