Great game! I enjoyed having playtest it. Loved the different choices presented in game; which gives off in-depth feels in parts of the game.
Love the music!
Also, there is a lot of depth in the story - I can tell that you really fleshed out these characters, and I was intrigued to see where the story would go!
There were a lot of story points where my character would say something and I wished I could have had a hand in it. I did like being able to choose the romantic options, though. (hee)
I liked both the character designs separately but I did feel like it was a little strange to have two such different art styles/shading in the same game. I wonder if you could add some filter/change the lighting or shading on the characters to make it a little more harmonious with itself.
I wonder...would you be able to choose to date the male vs female character? It kinda seems like you should! Good luck on making the final game.
Thanks for the feedback! Due to time constraints, a lot was rushed, such as the art and dialog options, and moving forward I'll keep your comment in mind.
For the dialog, I am continuously struggling between giving the player freedom and self-expression but potentially making the character dull or a blank state VS the main character having their own personality and nuance but with less player input and customization. Something for me to think about!
I do hope to have Inora as a romanceable character in the final game, too!
Yeah! I made my comments with the future of this story/characters in mind, so I hope you don't mind that. I totally understand how it must be to struggle between making a personality for the main character vs. giving the person playing some choice. I can't wait to see how you navigate that going forward.
Of course! The comments help guide me toward what to improve for future updates, so thank you for that! :)
Since I really enjoyed the prequel game of this story, it is no surprise that this game is a level above! I love the contrast between the characters and how you interact with them. The concept of combining mystical powers with technology is always cool to read. The music pairs perfectly with the background art, especially in those short suspenseful moments. I can't wait to see how this story continues.
Great work! :D
The story was well written and I enjoyed the concepts you introduced such as necromancy (as a major in college lol) and especially liked the Neon Fates app idea. I would definitely read future story installments of this.
The overall art and vibe was nice and the music fit really well.
Appreciate it!! If you’re interested in summoning/necromancy in college, Feronin and gang are in college in my prequel game Black Magic, White Cat! I’m also planning on continuing this game too, so keep an eye out ^_^
I’m glad you liked the chill nighttime city vibe and hope it conveyed well. Andyspace killed it with the music :)
I spoiler tagged my comment coz well, spoilers haha
I really like the lore for this! I did a project in uni about Data Algorithms and AI and I found it really cool how you had necromancy kind of follow that same evolution with how the tech companies can abuse it due to regulations not having cought up (and how it serves the purpose of finding a way around regulations on AI). It made me nerd out haha!
The way the creatures all draw from various lore was also super fun. I found myself looking up a bunch of them and I learned a lot!
Great work!
Hello fellow nerd! I’m so glad you enjoyed the merging of necromancy & tech in this world I built. There was a good chunk of lore I thought of but couldn’t fit it all in — maybe in the future! But yes, the idea is even if tech is regulated to death, corporations will always find a way to exploit us 😔
I’m glad you had fun learning about the creatures, too! I’d love to include art for them in the future too!
