  • This game is a really cool concept and something I'd encourage you to explore further! A polished/full version of this would be awesome. 3D platformers, mascot characters, and collectathons are coming back. A game about a rat jumping in and out of TVs between shows and movies would go *sooooo* hard. Thanks for entering the jam!

How does your submission fit the jam's theme?
The player enters levels by walking through a CRT TV. The levels themselves are themed after movies and/or tropes (western/cowboy shows, and Titanic are the specific themes of the two levels in the game.)

Amazing that going through a TV switches you between the hub of levels you can unlock and the levels themselves. This is one of the neatest implementations of a retro TV I've ever played. I did encounter one problem before I managed to figure out the controls.

I went through the little portal that unlocked the first area but I fell off the map and it took a while until I respawned back at the hub. The music of the game is solid and fits within the atmosphere of the levels. The overall platforming gameplay was solid. Although when I held the jump key, the character is floating in the air for a bit which I believe doesn't look smooth.

When I reached the ship level, I was immediately in love with how the water is rising or falling. It created an extra layer of challenge for the player because not only do they have to land on objects, but wait for the water to rise just enough to even land on it without failing.

Having diamonds as collectibles to collect per level is an amazing idea. I reached the end and game is just marvelous as a whole.

Really neat 3D platformer! I think the most impressive mechanic on a technical level is the fact that the entire world is interconnected, including the levels and hub, and have smooth transitions between each other through any TV. On the web build, these transitions and loading them do take some time and lag the game a little, but I think the effect of hopping through the TV is well worth it, and feels very fun. Excellent implementation of the theme, and great work!

I audibly gasped at the duck reveal

Nice game! The general mood reminds me a lot of A Hat in Time

Really good idea using the TV as a portal between levels

That was a great little game, I thought the level switching and tv portal mechanic was awesome. I ended up picking up enough to beat the game in the first level lol. The stages were cool and I think you had some fun little mechanics in there to play through, it would be really interesting to see this fleshed out into a more complete game. I feel like there's a lot more you could do with this idea.
