  • This is a cool concept! I love the idea of a horror/puzzle game where you have to rush to find the right commercials, but not too quick or else you could jump to conclusions, buy the wrong item, and waste money. This is just a really great idea and I'd keep that on the back burner if I were you! You'll make something even cooler one day, I just know it! Thanks for joining the jam!

How does your submission fit the jam's theme?
We leaned into the "Retro TV" theme by incorporating old school infomercials and commercials to capture that nostalgic yet eerie feeling of watching advertisements late at night. The focus of the game is sitting in front of your old TV, surfing through randomized commercials to try to find the right discounts and calling them to secure the deals!

Really enjoyed the vibe of this game and how the commercials are worked into the gameplay.  At first I didn't realize there was a list of items I needed to buy, that could've been made a little clearer.  But I enjoyed the tension of tracking down specific products under a time limit, and it was satisfying waiting on a commercial for a 90% deal and then hammering on the phone to make it in time.  Nice job!

You really replicated that weird liminal vibe of being up late and watching weird stuff and added an engaging gameplay loop to boot. The sound effects make calling the numbers feel satisfying and nostalgic for those old landlines. The easter eggs when you type the wrong number are nice touch too!

I liked the premise of surfing through channels to find things to buy, but I also definitely didn't understand if there was something specific I needed to do and just randomly purchased things haha. Had a cool unsettling vibe, I like the atmosphere you guys made.

This was dope. I loved frantically typing phone numbers, and the lack of being able to backspace kept it from being too easy. Audio was a bit loud, and I had a weird bug at one point where the phone guy didn't stop talking, but it was fun altogether!

Really engaging gameplay loop with a great dreary atmosphere! I feel like this perfectly fits the theme and implements it into the gameplay in a way that works really well! I also feel that restricting the player from backspacing while typing the number really adds to the tense feeling of trying to type as fast as possible to get the discount. Solid game!

I really liked the vibe. The living room with the TV and the clock feels cozy and a bit unsettling at the same time. Flipping through the strange commercials and calling the numbers is a cool idea and fits the jam theme a lot. I did feel a bit lost about what I should buy first to progress, so maybe a small hint for the first correct call could help players like me. I still had fun watching the weird ads and playing with the phone.

Pretty fun concept, I completely missed the list on my first attempt so I was just purchasing things at random haha, would had loved the option to delete numbers I've accidentally put in, or using the numpad, other than that it was pretty good!
