  • Hi! I'm so happy to see you back! I really enjoyed this a lot! Vine Man wasn't a bad game by any means, but Meat's Quest felt so much more polished. I'm glad you continued to stick with it and develop games! Hope to see you next year with another game in the series! Thanks for joining us again!

How does your submission fit the jam's theme?
The game takes place across more than one game-within-a-game, which are presented as 80s games. These games also take place within an actual CRT, which is seen at the beginning and end of every level.

The creativity on the use of retro TV theme was very evident and spectacular in this platformer. This game came very close to Super Mario Bros on Nintendo.

Actually, on second though I forgot I can shoot. I actually made it to the end but the game was still challenging enough to the point I struggled in some levels, particularly the boss fight one.

Amazing work! This game feels extremely well polished and fully formed! I really enjoyed everything about this, from the visuals to the music to the gameplay, which was challenging but not too frustrating thanks to the plentiful checkpoints. Incredible job making a game that feels so complete within the jam’s short timeframe!

Pretty beefy for a jam game, nice work! Felt like a complete and polished experience.  Loved Meat's design and how he's in a pot like a piranha plant. Only real complaint is that the boss was a bit undercooked in comparison to the rest of the game, but it's an understandable tradeoff

This honestly feels like a finished game! if there was a little more content on some of the levels it would've been an almost shippable product! Props to you!

Could not get the game to run in the browser

After the Meat’s Quest title screen the picture froze and nothing reacted
I like the CRT frame and the simple pixel look so I would love to try a fixed build later

Unfortunately I don't think there's much I can do here, I can't replicate your issue. I suggest using the offline build for now.

Absolute peak jam submission. I'm really impressed with the amount of content you were able to squeeze into this game, amazing work!

Excellent game! Genuinely had me grinning the whole way :3 - The dialogue was especially fun - with the duck's Q's and the last level (Inspired! I love a good pun!) though the flowers were actually making me rage haha

The presentation is pretty solid! And some very good references to both classic gaming and vinesauce!
