Yo man, I tried the game and it was a beauty. The cases were well thought out, as were the characters. The gameplay feels flawless, as does the AI integration. I really felt like an interrogator, and the showcase og the emotions of the suspects make it even better.
There wasn’t any huge problem, but there were a lot of small ones that can add up and reduce the player experience. The easiest fix is to change the audio to loop so it doesn’t stop after a couple of minutes. The emotions really spice up the gameplay, but you could add them invisibly only after the “send” button is pressed instead of showing them in the text right away. These are minor things that don’t really matter; I just thought it would be good to list them.
Now, the sprites and UI everything looks really good individually, they’re awesome, but together they don’t quite fit. Maybe it’s the resolution, idk. What I’d recommend is using a color palette search one up that fits the vibes. The fewer colors, the better. And one more tip for the art: scaling. The sprites are pixelated, but the pixel sizes are sometimes different, which hurts the overall look.
Hope you can use some of my tips in the future love you man:)
Sound: I just noticed the sound issue now, haha — I usually play games without sound, so I didn’t realize it before.
UI: I’m working on fixing it right now, really thank you for mentioning it to me! <3 :D
Resolution: I’m not completely sure about that, but others have mentioned the same issue. It’s probably because of large screens or playing in fullscreen. I optimized all the UI to make the game as lightweight as possible since there are a lot of images, but I’m working on improving it.
I really like when games keep on adding mechanics in new levels, and this one did that very well, the variety was nice. It was great using testimonies from one person to make another crack in the later cases! I love the artstyle too.
The AI worked really well overall and was very consistent! The only point were I started thinking the AI was going offtrack, it turned out it was on purpose, so, good job :) (The girl who got beat up and has some memory issues now)
Got a few small issues, none were a huge bother but I'll list them to help you fix : - The font looks bad for me, like there's a resolution issue, but it doesn't seem to be the case in the screenshots? Not sure what's wrong, here's an example where it's particularly noticeable (but it looks wrong everywhere) :
- I KEPT on typing an answer then clicking the button to set an emotion, only for it to delete what I typed! Would be great if clicking the button would prepend the text (eg. *talking in a calm tone*) to the text already in the input field rather than replacing it.
- On the level where you have to fill a trust bar, I just said something like "Ok, I'm listening" and I went from 0% to 100% instantly xD. I did afk on that screen before talking to her, I wonder if you have a time check so people don't get stuck too long and I accidentally triggered it this way. (this one isn't really a bug, I'm just curious :P)
- Sometimes someone would confess but the button to finish the level wouldn't appear until I repeat their confession to them, can be a bit confusing.
I’m really thankful for your feedback and comment <3 It’s so cool that you actually beat the whole game XD — I thought it would be too hard to do that!
1️⃣ About the font — yeah, maybe it’s because the resolution is too high. I compressed the game a lot to make it around 20MB XD, so that might have affected the quality. I’ll try to fix the fonts :D
2️⃣ The emotion buttons — that’s an easy fix, thank you! I made it that way so players wouldn’t keep stacking multiple emotions (like calm + natural), but I already have a better plan to make it add the emotion instead of replacing it.
3️⃣ The trust bar — haha, I struggled to make her trust me too XD. Maybe it’s a bug or something, I’ll test it myself to check.
4️⃣ Yeah, that sometimes happens because of how the functions are called, but I’ll try to improve it :)
Really, thanks a lot for your feedback — it helps me improve the game <3
WOW!! This really cool game with cool stories and has given the most detective type vibe ever from any detective games i played in the past😊. THe UI and Graphics are really cool and you have done rally great work👌
Thank you so much!! :D I’m really happy you enjoyed the game and the detective vibe. I’m glad you liked the UI and graphics your words mean a lot! :D <3
I enjoyed this game, and how you can interact with the character after you return. It was funny to say that I had already talked to the person trapped in the pendant and they immediately confessed.
Yeah, you mean the first case XD? I made it so easy to solve so the player doesn’t suffer too much on the first level. But after that, the game starts to get harder and you need to use plans with each character to discover the truth or solve the case :D
Thanks for your comment! <3 Are you using a phone or a PC? If you’re on mobile, there should be a send button — it should send your message. or tell me how isn't working please to fix the bug :D
Did it happen after you finished the tutorial? Or was it something else? Can you please tell me what exactly the problem is, or which browser you’re using? I’m not fully sure what’s causing it — maybe it’s related to the tutorial or something else.
if u take screen of the problem from the screen it would really good :)
HappyNE cat is the best cat. I'm not that smart and I can't solve the cases myself, but nothing escapes the cat detective. (The way the cat animates when it's talking is awesome!)
Yeah, I added it because there are lazy people who won’t read the case sometimes, so they need someone to help them read or assist with the cases XD I don’t mean everyone who uses it is stupid — it’s just for easier cases, like the first one. The first 6 cases should be a little bit easy.
