Any news on 1.8 update???
As advised by others, we will never give a set date, so far the plan still continues to be to release by the end of November.
It wont really die, is just completed. It is highly unlikely to push past 2.0. After the steam release, the plan is to have a break period and then move to the next side project. Good things come to an end and the next doesn't have a reason not to hit the same as Starmaker. We all love starmaker, and the next side project will be worked on with the same enthusiasm as Starmaker has been developed with.
However, its always great to see the support Starmaker receives.
Oh, that's a shame. I hope you change your mind at least a little and maybe make a version 2.1, or whatever you can afford depending on sales success on Steam and if the community asks for it a lot (sorry for not giving up hope that you'll add more content).
Will the next project have similar graphics and a similar gameplay mode? I love the graphics and character designs in Starmaker.
(I hope it will be the same type of pixel art and character design).

I understand this might not be to everyone's liking so maybe an option to turn them off and have static CGs. But really think it would add to the immersion of Anna's teasing and becoming more corrupt
Now try not to be too mean 😅 Roundscape is the golden child, it does have a very dedicated and equally grumbly fanbase. The main issue between the games however is that Starmaker settings wise is a complete opposite theme (Fantasy > Slice of life) it will make it hard for the games to share visual assets and as a result require more time spent implementing content in to Starmaker. A lot of suggestions and feedback has been introduced into the game since 1.1, and I will expect we will see more before it is complete.
Kal does make money through Patreon subscriptions and through the sale of the back catalogue of games on Steam. This allows him to focus on his games with no commitments to publishers, this is a healthy approach to game development. An area where I will agree with you is on the analytics, Starmaker does generate the most interest of all of his projects, which is evident in the engagement on his Patreon and X posts. Though at the end of the day the choice is with him, though I am sure he is aware if he wanted to follow the money a game like Starmaker is where it is at.

I personally feel that the positive effects of such changes would far outweigh adding some stories or secrets, as there are already enough story explorations and secrets at present. The theme is perfect, if those small photo scenes are made into larger GIFs, it will enhance the level and quality of the entire game!!! More players will strongly support it!!! I would not expect the camping trip to be expended upon, never mind more to the Slut route as I think the focus on refactoring previous content will be more in line with filling in the gaps in the Love route with an aim to equalise the amount of content in to both routes.

Except for the "degrading" talk part as the user suggested, it wouldn't be impossible to happen. But you yourself answered why it would not happen / not in the foreseeable future. Its not saying "no" because everything is no, some suggestions either dont make sense, are not the aim of the game, there's something else that takes priority, or the project is to far in development.
All good so far, just seeing an increase on the "they dont care about this project", "suggest so they can say no to all". So just having a word, I'll be indeed doing a post in regards to that, just like I said in another response. I dont want to repeat things but also dont want to leave the comment as "not seen/ignored" thats all
Meh, you can Ctrl + F "they dont care about this project" on every single game page on Itch with a thousands results. I understand the sentiment but both Itch and Patreon are echo chambers and the Roundscape Adorevia Steam Forums are void of community engagement with most people still expecting the 6.9 patch from 12 months ago. As I have mentioned before Kal is the master he can make a game about GILFs riding Unicorns if he wants, but some clearer communication would not go a miss.
For all of Kal's projects I know I have used this example before but a bi-weekly progress log like Breadman does, could curb a lot of negativity
In reality it tells you feck all, but at least can look at it an say are that is where they are at. Also it would maybe refrain Kal from last minute adding a new game in the game and setting the timer back to zero 😅
Sure like I say, nothing over the top just an overview where things stand should be enough. The point is to reduce communication not entice it 🙂
Negative, this is plain no concent from the mc, this is not the intention or aim of the game. There won be any scenes were the mc is not aware of what's going on and not actively approving of it.
Sad times for me, but I understand. Your game is still amazing and I look forward to what is to come.
