does anyone know some good game engines for people just getting into coding?

Look into Godot or Pico8! Pico8 is the first one I used for making a game, it is very limited but if you are willing to sit through some tutorials its pretty easy to get a character moving. Godot is free and has lots of guides around, it took me a while to figure out what I was doing but it was very worth it!

Look into Scratch too! It's a really good engine if you have no programming experience. There are plenty of learning resources as well.
