What you have is very serene, and the artwork is excellent. Experimenting with some of the GDevelop 2D effects to make the water ripple or glow would be a really cool addon. Keep making games!

Its a shame you didn't get to finish it, but I would say keep going if you enjoyed the project. Its lovely to look at and I never played a top down game as a Koi before.

This game had a fantastic look and awesome menu design, I am not sure if you built much in the world I swam around for a bit and found nothing. It was a little slow should have a sprint style button, also the repetitive sound does not really work I would try chill music. 

Another thing that would look good would be to have some very transparent clouds above bits maybe chunky particles with a fore in a direction and slow flow offset off screen from the fish.
