Ahaha, the music is great. Wasn't able to enjoy the gameplay unfortunately, because was trying to play on my phone
This game is genius. It is so minimalistic and simple and the physics and background music/song feel so right. This is the king of game feel. It fits the theme perfectly. Funnily enough, speed is the only worthy upgrade. Your profit comes at a rate of: speed * (speed + coin + lap) So increasing speed increases the profit at an (n²) rate and the other two increase it linearly.
I love this idea! As a Godot developer myself, I'm incredibly intrigued to know whether you used 2D or 3D?
Thanks! It's 2d. The snail is a sprite stack, basically a load of 2d images stacked on top of each other at an offset to mimic 3d.
That is really smart, kind of like parallax scrolling on a sprite. Pretty clever and creative. This and many other nuances add so much game feel to this simple and beautiful game.
a work of art if ive ever seen one
SNAIL!
please release the snail song on spotify
Snail
Very Creative
I like the minimalist visuals and the introduction of the shop was fun. I also agree with the guy below me, and I think having the initial speed of the snail be sliightly faster would mean the first lap isnt excruciating lol. (Also a snail trail would be funny) Good submission!
I agree with the guy below me, a lap timer would be a great addition because it would give you a goal!
What a fun concept! Keeps it simple but makes you want to play more with the upgrades. Maybe a lap timer would let you see how fast you can go. Excellent submission.
