I really enjoyed the writing! Hilarious perspective. You didn't hold back and the storytelling was fluid. I did get stuck mid-way through after surviving the barbarian and kept getting killed by the archer. I was immersed in the game but I think I was was like in a loop trying different options. Everything else seemed like 2-3 choices till success. But for whatever reason the scrying part confused me. There aren't many humor writers so it's cool that your story made me laugh. I've got some fun scenes in my submission. I also like DnD and I'm thinking about creating an Adventure RPG. Could collab if you're interested.

Thank you for the kind words, and I'm really happy I made you laugh! And yeah I should've spend a bit more time polishing the scrying eye, it's an important reminder to keep such things in mind. I haven't played DnD in a looong time, but I'm always open to new creative endeavors, so feel free to hit me up on Discord or in Linkedin. Both work. I'm Bisyk / Mykhailo Bohdan on the IGDA server.

Everything in this game was very well put together, with the writing and the dialogue being the strongest point!

It was a great idea to use time travel/manipulation for the subject of resilience really making it seem like you're one hard bone to chew when in reality you canonically just keep trying again and again.

I loved how you took the time to make the "game over screen" segment play into the storytelling, making it feel like that game never really ends until you win.

The only downside is that there's no graphics whatsoever, they would've enhanced the story a lot more should they exist.

Thank you very much, i'm so glad to read it! Graphics would be really cool, true, I just didn't manage to pull off everything in time.

I REALLY, really liked this little DND narrative adventure! I also liked the trial-and-error approach with funny outcomes . It was a nice use of Arcweave to implement a "Game Over. Try again?" mechanic.

And as a dungeon master myself, I can appreciate the varying outcomes for spells and attacks used in battle. It was tricky, but I managed to make it to the end. It'd be cool if you made a second one with Arcweave where it's all about outsmarting the elf guy! Could be a fun sequel lol

I know for a fact I'll be the perfect evil wizard there ever was heheheh

Developer

Reading it brings me a heap of joy! Thank you. I'm happy you've made it to the end. You will make a terrific evil wizard indeed. Perhaps we all are better off that the magic doesn't exist for you to wield :)

Nice! I loved the temporal spell idea. It matched very well with the snappy gameplay! :)

I also loved playing as a dark wizard, trying to best a band of adventurers. The writing was great, very immersive. Good job!
