I can see a lot of potential in this game, with a clear gameplay loop of trying to find the best flower for the memorial service. It makes sense that the protagonist will move away from a big city with the problems she was facing there, and it is a nice touch that the person in charge of the funeral parlor in a small town will know everyone and will be more invested than if it was in a big town. Well done! ^^
This was really a nice concept!
I liked how you arranged the whole story and this is quite the premise for a great continuation, maybe with the mechanics getting a little bit more tight and the clues not being told anymore, maybe just with the most difficult clients.
It kinda reminded my of The Sixth Sense or similar narratives where someone has to help the dead find peace.
One thing tho, I got stuck at the third chapter when telling the client about "strawberries". Dunno if it's intended because the story was cut short by time, or if it's a bug :)
This is a heartwarming and hopeful story. The concept is also very interesting!
I enjoyed the playthrough. The writing matched the tone of the story well. I think you good job depicting Andrew's character! I think, for the future, some changes you could make:
- Don't tell the clue received when talking to the people! I think it would've been cool to try to deduce the clues by myself.
- The gameplay loop was a slight bit repetitive. I think having the ghosts appear in a different order from the victim would have helped with that.
Beyond that, though, I felt the story was well done! I enjoyed the music and sound effects as well--it was a nice touch.
Thank you so much for playing and leaving a comment! I'll definitely take note of what could be improved. I learned a lot while writing and managing the scope, so I'm hoping to expand on the game in the future! Again, thanks for playing!
Hello! Congratulations on the game and the narrative! I found it interesting how the theme was explored in contrast to the protagonist's job.
I would say that—and you can disagree if you want—the narrative felt... simple? I understand it didn't need to be something grand, but I missed some descriptions and details throughout. (maybe it's just me)
The gameplay is simple, but functional. (and as a bonus, I learned about the meaning of some flowers!)
Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks for playing!! Yeah, the narrative was a bit simple - the scope I wanted to go into was much too big for the timeframe and Arcweave's limited space. Making the game definitely helped me understand what to focus on and what to cut in the future - I'm hoping to remake the game one day :) Thanks again for playing!
