I didn't expect the speed of the character to be tied with the health bar, that was a nice surprise! made it to wave 6 before I stopped playing, it was quite fun! I also liked that there wasn't a health bar system, but different sprites for the different hp levels instead, well done!
The player speed being tied to the healthbar accidently resulted in the starting speed being boosted by a lot and it also messed with the dash due to the way I programmed it. The sprites of the player changing originally had to do with the story and was a metaphor but I didn't have time to add that in. I think the most I made it to was wave 5 during playtesting, I didn't realize people would play more than one special wave. Thank you for the feedback!
Good pumpkin game ((△w△)) The inability to die was interesting lol
I really like the idea, and the fact that the game literally has no end even when you die is very funny :D
The graphics are very good and funny, I love the detail that you shoot corpses XD
Maybe the only thing is that it gets a bit tedious to shoot by clicking all the time, and the idea of not dying is interesting, but when you’re in pumpkin mode and can’t shoot, you just restart the game because playing like that is horrible XD

Thank you! That comment about the manual shooting is right, I’ll probably fix that in an update later. Pumpkin mode was made to be tedious, as it makes the game technically endless, but I’ll probably add a restart button in the update as the jam theme won’t be on my mind by then. Easily my favorite take on the limitation, the soft game over where you can still move around is a super unique take, very clever!
As for the game itself it's just as amazing. Gameplay is very well made and enjoyable to play. The art is the strongest point, I really like the life indicator up top that changes expression as your health goes down.
Looking through the comments I see your idea on the horror elements and I think you should go for it, it sounds cool! Updating the game with those ideas would make it a really unique take on wave survival.

I actually was planning on updating it to incorporate those elements and a few other unused ideas in development. For example the carrot enemy was originally meant to be a boss that appeared every 5th wave(Akin to Plants Versus Zombies Garden Warfare), but I didn't have time to properly implement it.
Really liked the art style, and liked the sprites progression when damaged. Not dying and just being an imortal blob was a funny and dark twist I didnt expext.

Thank you! Initially I actually was planning on incorporating more horror elements: The music slowing and lowering in pitch, screen darkening, etc. But that was one of the things I saved for last and never got to during development. So things like the story and horror weren't really materialized.
