It's basically an endless schump/bullet hell style game. I'd say that fits.

I like the concept and the simplicity. However, the hitboxes seem to be broken, as I randomly died while not hitting anything. Also, the cursor positions seems off. Overall, the game is pretty good :)
Thanks for the comment! with the hitbox thing, it might be due to running out of gas, maybe missing or not collecting... the player hitbox was meant for hazards and was made thin, so I could see this happening. I haven't seen a gameplay gif so, I really can't tell for certain.
Implementing an extra bit sub-text to the "GAME OVER" screen would likely be helpful (e,g, "GAME OVER" "(ran out of gas)" and "(hit by hazard)").
I'll try your game when I can, like the style from what I'm seeing in the preview.
I forgot the gas existed lol, might have been because I ran out of gas
Cool and simple game. The art and music are good. The gameplay is fun and addicting, i found myself playing over and over again XD. Well Done !.
I now figured out the speed didn't increase properly, and it feels completely different now that I fixed it (in my working build). I guess that's what happens with badly implemented code.
Good game, i saw your post during the jam, U made it !!! Well done :D I like the art style but the background seems to move in the wrong direction XD. Love the work tho. my highscore is 20.03 ;D
Good one! it would easyly be made into a mobile game, maybe if you auto-attack and touch the screen to move. I'd add more elements, like points for how many of those black balls I destroy, maybe upgrades, like different types of weapons/shooting patterns, could be temporary, or magnets/tractor beams to catch the fuel. It's a solid base for something interesting, good job!
smooth execution for a schmup, felt pretty polished for what it is, good call for risk with the fuel. art is cute and fitting, only clouds are scrolling back which is kinda silly.
and VERY unique set of software used, lol
Thanks for the feedback. keeping the game simple is the best thing you can do.
Without using a full engine you kinda work with your own paradigm/limitation more than anything else. I try new frameworks to see what I like, so far stuff like Raylib, LÖVE & Ebitengine seem to be the sweet spot, low overhead of dealing with engine specific problems.
Anyway, looking at the clouds it seems they are scrolling forwards, and background scrolls slowly which may not noticeable when you are moving a lot.
what i meant is that the clouds are scrolling forward, but if the is flying forward, the clouds should scroll back, to imply that the ship is moving forward
I tried my very best to stay off the screen, and got myself a high score of 8.5, still the fuel mechanic forced me to leave my safe hiding place, and they eventually got me. Entertaining game :).
i felt like a pilot from the Top Gun movies for a second there.
good game!
