- This was wonderful! I thought it was a very creative interpretation of the theme and felt unique. Thanks for joining the jam!
How does your submission fit the jam's theme?
Our game is centered around playing nes games and watching old commercials on a Retro TV

oh man this one brings back memories for sure! though im not sure why the parent checking on you is fine with the tv being on as long as its not video games lolll
im terrible at keyboard gaming so i struggled but it was very fun! added to the panic of not getting caught for sure when i couldnt remember how to swap channels hahah
the commercials and xfiles poster really bring the nostalgia, and duck hunt is such a clever way to add a "duck"! awesome job c:
The gimmick is well executed, nice work! I loved the faithfulness to the original NES games and how you worked the classic commercials into the game itself, in a way that felt organic and well suited to the theme.
Really engaging and addicting game! I think the NES visuals are really well done, and I love the Vinesauce spin on old existing NES games! I also really like how you implemented the 9-Volt “Gamer” like mechanic of switching the channel to avoid getting caught. It’s a very unique and charming way to wrap the theme of the jam into your game mechanics. Great job!
Great little combo of games, took me a bit to grasp the controls but from there was smooth sailing. Fast restart helped a lot!
Glad you enjoyed! We wanted the game to restart from essentially checkpoints to make sure it didn't take forever to play through, so glad that worked out well.
it did frustrate me only cus im not the best at games like these, but very nice concept! i like the art and execution as well :) good job
Yeah I was a little worried about how hard it would be for people, but as the developers we played it so much it was hard for us to really tell without having time for playtesters. I'm glad you enjoyed it regardless!
i get that lol, for my game i was going crazy by how much i was testing it and stressing over if people would enjoy it or not since i've gone numb to it! no problem!
a lot of fun! the TV and sprite work was so authentic!! perhaps there's some commentary on watching TV instead of gaming, hmmmmm
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! We did the art from reference of holding our own NES controllers and stuff haha. And yeah, you shouldn't be playing all those violent video games :)
Good job! I really liked sprite work on the NES game. The gnorts + grey leno cameo was also well done.
Thank you! I'm glad you had fun with it. We had some more ideas for artwork to include more silly stream characters, but there was so much artwork to use overall we settled for UFO themed duck hunt haha
The game play loop is fun and reminds me of the mario ware 9 volt game with a retro twist. Great work!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D We definitely were inspired by that haha, but wanted to take it away from micro games
oh sure play less games, watch more violent crazy commercials instead :D
It's good for you
