An ambitious idea. Good focus on how the forest is connected and the resource management.  The threats the forest faces were quite intense, would have been nice to see some natural threats like drought, blizzards or floods.

This was an interesting take on the theme! Admittedly, when I saw this game was about shepherding and strengthening a forest, I though of the guardian fox spirit in Jade Empire, who carefully gathers strength in anticipation of a showdown when an evil antagonist begins corrupting her forest.

While the game didn't have a twist in that vein (in my play-throughs thus far), I did see how the game could lend itself to teaching kids about  trees, forests, and how they grow & regrow. Nice start!

Thank you, theres a lot to be learned about forests and trees, whilst my game is far from educational (im no botanist) i did think it was very fun to do in this way. Unfortunately there are no twists, just didnt give myself enough time for that. thanks for playing though.

i really liked the interpretation of resilience here, it's great to see focus on the nature side :) there was a lack of polish in few parts but i liked the gameplay mechanic's idea a lot. i replayed this few times to see if i would suvive but i never did. nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing, technically it should have been balanced enough that you should have won more than you lost, so youre very unlucky lol. I had to cut a lotttt of stuff as i ran out of time so the polish did not get the attention it deserved. im glad you liked how i attempted to fit the theme. Thanks

Very unconventional choice to play as a tree, but honestly refreshing for that reason . LoL, not sure where the dragon came from, but that was fun, if maybe perhaps OP.

Had a bit of an issue with sizing and seeing some of the dialogue choices, but the way it was presented was kind of nice. This sort of brought me back to The Giving Tree which was one of my favorite childhood books.

Developer

haha yeah, the dragon was a little easter egg that was supposed to be OP, i like dragons so i wanted to put it in there. I dont know css so i just used a template and edited it a bit for the visuals, which unfortunately ended up in some visual crunch but i didnt have the know how to fix. Thanks for playing though.

Fun take on the theme, good game! I had maxed out a lot of stats and was confused when I lost, but replaying again it became clearer!

Developer

Thank you for playing, i terribly balanced the scores and the win/loss criteria so its very questionable about when you win or lose lol. on average it should be balanced enough to allow more wins than losses but its badly conveyed how.

Considering the engine, you had a good idea for a plot. I was just a little lost on the event that tested my mother tree (and did no find out why i have won) but good stuff and straight to the theme!

Developer

thank you, i realised towards the end of the jam that showing the event and how you combat it was very badly conveyed but just didnt have time to fix it. Thanks for playing though.
