The only baffling pronunciation in this one was the A DROUGHT one, which perhaps works if you imagine someone speaking in a Scottish accent, but while it he second word appeared reasonable to me, the first one came only after experimenting with three letter words that would fit.
Clearly I've gotten the hang of these, because I did it in about eleven minutes... I should time myself on the next one! Cute graphics as well and a nice ending.
(sorry i don't think i'm going to find a suitable multilayered keane lyric for this one)
This whole game is a mild hell for a non-native English speaker (like me) but also a nice display of wordplay for people who appreciate it (also me). Can't deny, I also found the graphics really charming. This was my first game of yours and I might just try more just to see how wordplay's handled there, it's quite impressive
I want to like this game, but it’s sadly clear that there’s a fundamental disconnect between how my brain works and how yours does. I spent 20 fruitless minutes on the first puzzle, and even after getting the solution from the walkthrough, I couldn’t see how I was supposed to work out the answer.
I do like the wit and art on display though!
I tried, but my brain just doesn’t want to connect the dots either. It’s a shame as it seems like a fun game if you are good at these sorts of puzzles :)
Second game of yours I've played in this competition, this time for twelve points! I like the graphics in this suite of games, and was especially amused with the zoo image. The retro eight bit style graphics match well with the creative wordplay of the puzzles.
Thanks! I was looking for a way to keep things simple so people wouldn't be bogged down as they are with my Inform games. I was going for a "fun" angle here.
And yes, I was especially pleased with the zoo. It was actually quite fun to google image search and draw MSPaint pictures based on them. (small voice: yes, also, I was too lazy to draw a Giraffe head. It was tricky at that resolution.)
Hope you find time to get through all the games. I hope to get through at least half.
This appears to be a great game. I really like the text and the color coding. IF ONLY I could guess the first verb to do whatever is need to get light from the globe. RATS...
Oh no! I forgot to mention HINT helps with the first puzzle. After that, it helps with the X ME hint-item.
Until then, you can try X ME to find a hint item that will tell you something about the right phrase. The game title is a clue.

Thanks, it was a runoff from my IFComp entry. I wanted it to just be fun. Comments like yours have been a nice boost to fix up the post-comp version.
