The game is a huge pastiche of Saturday Morning and 80's action movies. The TV theme is also used in universe.

The correct amount of challenge! The visuals are very impressive and the music is quite catchy, great job!

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked my game.

So much fun to play, was excited to bust out the controller for this one too! I like that you have an option to toggle the filter on/off, loved how the filter made the game look. Cutscenes were really well made and silly. Really good game!

Thank you!

Awesome retro-styled game. The difficulty/length felt just right.  The art is fantastic, and I loved how my character had a different look with each powerup.  Only wish there was more of that duck cyborg (or mechsuit?) fella from the cutscenes.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. The extra characters of the cutscenes were kind of a reference to the ones in the cartoons that were included just to sell more toys. If I had more time I'd certainly include Mr. Duck as a playable character in another segment with a completely different gameplay.

Sweet Contra-like, definitely felt like a retro game without being frustrating. The art was great and the end was a nice surprise.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I was kinda concerned about balancing the difficulty of the game, didn't want to make it too easy since it wouldn't be true to the source material and not too hard to be frustrating to the players.

I played the game with CRT shaders on the TV and they look fantastic. The platform gameplay is very stellar and I like how you start out with a short-ranged weapon that only fires one per. As I get more abilities found in blue boxes, I notice that my weapons enhance for a short period of time. That's really neat.

Although, I did die a lot I made it to the end. The turrets were an amazing layer of challenge in a 2D platformer, and this includes those flying drones that shoot at you. The level design for all platform levels were fantastic. Great work overall.

Thank you, glad you liked it.

Is the game supposed to softlock at the palace? I destroy the turret at the bottom and kill the dude at the top, but I can't figure out if that's where it's supposed to end.

Developer

Hello, you are supposed to hit the red button that lights up like the first boss of Contra. There are three other segments after that.

Submitted

Oh, darn, hit it with an attack? I thought I tried that, but I guess I must've kept missing it. I'll give it another go.

Developer

Yeah you need to attack the red light several times to destroy  the wall, it blinks when the hit confirms. The flame weapon in particular makes short work of that boss if you manage to destroy the turrets without losing it.

Got it! I must say, it was worth it to revisit the game and beat it!

Developer

Glad to see if you managed to reach the end and enjoy it, thanks for playing.
