I really like the idea to roll 2d and interpret the comination of success/failure. Making it 2 different dice makes it easy to tell which is for what. Really creative!
The rumors are neat and map details. One small note on the rules though, you don't actually specify that rolling under your stat is the success condition.
That is an awkward mistake to make, thank you for pointing it out. It is now fixed.
