Loved the prose here a ton. You really touched on the feeling of social anxiety, that insane mix of irrational fear, accompanied by knowing on some level it is irrational. I enjoyed it a lot!
Literally me at GDC??? I really loved this, great take on the theme!
Wow, this was cool. I liked how it accurately portrayed how an introverted person could behave in a large public gathering. However, I would have liked to see more varied outcomes from some of my decisions. Aside from that, I really enjoyed it.
This feels like reading pages off a diary I don't recall ever writing, and this is not an exaggeration. Hats off to you.
It does take a lot of resilience to push through social events that you know you should enjoy, but anxiety gets in the way. And it is common to experience the conference by silently attending panels/looking at presentations and never interacting with anyone. The smaller qna panels is often where more natural connections happen, or at least more participation so it is a good environment to take that first step.
I also liked that you can go home, which is not seen as a failure but still as progress towards your bigger goal.
Your writing is very fluid and I would have gladly continued reading the story further. As someone with social anxiety this encapsulated all its ups and downs very well!
Yours was one of the first I played while the jam was still going on. It had a really cute ending for me, and I'm glad I was able to have your protagonist be RESILIENT enough to persevere through things they were uncomfortable with. It felt like a very personal story about stepping out of one's shell. And I think that's something we can all relate to when we're in environments that aren't so comfortable. Very nice job!
You actually got me rooting for the protagonist! Like, come on, we can do this! Super relatable, and the writing is short, sharp, and easy to follow and finish! Good job!
Sure thing you writing is on point.
Oof, I feel this! The intense fight or flight just to talk to people haha Loved your take on the theme!
