Game description
A Drop’s Journey to Become a Wave

Hi everyone! The BeWave art asset package is now available for download 🎨
You can get it here:

Theme interpretation
The theme has two layers of meaning in my game.
First, the water drop travels between different worlds through waves.
Second, the entire journey is about the drop becoming a wave itself.

The contrast between the upper and lower areas was a neat concept. I didn't find the game itself hard, but the controls felt clunky. Some of it was due to visual clarity, like how the same exact looking pillar was something I could stand on in one area but not another, or how I bonked my head on platforms above me that I would normally assume are one-way in most other games (seemingly bonking my head on air due to the platforms not feeling properly marked). I found myself not being able to double jump for seemingly no reason in a lot of scenarios; whether the jump just didn't come out entirely, or I had apparently used it instead of the normal jump right after walking/running off the platform. It likely didn't help that the same sound always plays when you press the button, regardless of if you actually jumped or not. The fact you can (inconsistently) collide with the collectables also often pushed me into the spikes right next to them.

It was fun to speedrun it for a bit, I got <2 minutes after realizing there was a "sprint" button (which to my knowledge is not stated anywhere in the game or on the page?)

Some of the collision and control issues come from unfinished movement flow decisions, which made certain platforms and interactions less clear than intended.Your points about visual readability, jump consistency, and collisions with collectables are well noted, and they’re areas I’ll refine going forward. Thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed and thoughtful analysis.

The graphics were SO GOOD, but the player didn't rly fit in with the other environment that much, wasn't a big issue, The movement felt a bit floaty, and sometimes I die for no reason? I might be dumb, I couldn't find the easter egg tho, overall this game was beautiful, good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! About the deaths, the player only dies in two cases: entering the wrong water zone, or getting hit by spikes. The spikes can appear from above, underground, or underwater, so they might pop up unexpectedly.

Developer

Tips: for the Easter egg house, try paying close attention to the little spirits' dialogue.

They will give you an item, and once you have it, you’ll discover the third door.

OH, I might go try it!

Graphic is awesome, especially underwater. I couldn't go throw 3th level, but maby I am just bad in platformer :)

Developer

Thank you!  Level 3 is a little tricky, just watch out for the spikes above your head and the ones hidden in the riverbed.
Tip: stand at the edge of the boat and jump forward when the spikes come out . XD

Hi! I just played your game!
I don't usually play platformers, but your game was a very fun time. I really liked how you go from being above the water where it is all just black and white, to underwater where everything is really colorful. I spent way too much time looking for the house easter egg, but I did find it eventually! My playtime was about 20 minutes. Thank you for making this game and good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! The easter egg room is definitely hard to find, lol. Thank you so much for liking it! QWQ
