Game description
Experience Snake like never before! Watch as your snake creates gravitational waves that ripple through spacetime, warping the fabric of reality itself!

Theme interpretation
The game simulates how massive objects create wave-like distortions in spacetime:

- Wave Propagation: Each grid point calculates its distance from the snake's "gravitational source"

- Wave Amplitude: A cubic falloff function determines the intensity of the gravitational wave at each point

- Spacetime Ripples: Grid points are displaced toward the gravitational well, creating visible waves in the fabric of space

- Wave Interference: As you move, the gravitational waves propagate outward, creating dynamic, flowing distortions

- Gravitational Redshift: Colors shift from cyan to red-orange based on wave intensity - simulating how light frequencies change in strong gravitational fields

yeah this game is sick! I love snake, and this little twist was a dizzying addition. I think having more of a gimmick than just the visual wackyness could have been cool, like planets that also change the grid or wormholes and obstacles! It felt a little simple. other than that, wildly wacky weird game, awesome work

Developer

Thank you! I'm thinking maybe some wormholes might make it even more fun =)

I feel hypnotised 😵 seriously... my eyes hurt
Don't get me wrong, the idea of the twist on the snake is very interesting, a cool experiment. I don't see any flaws in the execution, grats for that and for trying smth new!!

Developer

Glad you liked it, and I agree that it's a bit headache inducing ;)

Very interesting twist to Snake. I'm not sure why, but sometimes I get lag spikes while playing.

Developer

Thank you! I've noticed those spikes on occasion, I'll dig into it =)

Super cool effect! Really tripped me out when I started playing and definitely increased the challenge! Really awesome submission!

Developer

Thank you =)

Cool take on a classic. I thought the gravitational effect was well done, and adds to the gameplay of snake by messing up your timing. When the grid bends around the edges of the map, there's an extra row of cells that becomes visible, but you'll die if you enter them, which can be confusing.

Developer

A good point ... I should make the edge bend in too! =)

Congratulations on finishing the job on time, but my head is spinning right now.

Hehe, fair. It's part optical illusion, part educational toy, and slighly nauseating =)

omg I love the concept so much.

the redshifting is a really nice touch

Developer

Thank you =)

Really cool, couldn't play for too long before feeling a little dizzy though haha

Developer

I'll put a nausea warning on the next version, haha

This is a really excellent submission.  I'm not sure I would have ever thought of this interpretation and I have no idea how I would program it.  This feels almost like rage bait snake where the effect messes up your timing and you just keep missing the point.  I feel like you're just one vibe song and a little juice away from having a unique bite sized game anyone can play.

Awesome job!

Developer

Thank you! I hope it was more enjoyable than rage-inducing though =)

Cool take on a classic, in my mind I called it trippy snake - like the visuals, it definitely makes it more challenging and fun:)

Developer(+2)

Thank you! Itch won't let me rate your game yet, but I made it to the end and it was terrific =)

Thanks so much, glad to hear it!
