Game description
Slashrush is a fast-paced, wave-based slasher where you play as a masked killer trapped in a small cabin overrun by panicking teenagers. Every wave increases the pressure: more enemies, less time, and faster movement. Slash through the crowd, build combos, trigger temporary frenzy boosts, and survive as long as possible before the countdown hits zero. A minimalist pixel-horror experience focused on speed, chaos, and arcade scoring.

Theme interpretation
How the game uses the theme “WAVE”

The theme “Wave” is represented through the game’s core structure. Enemies spawn in escalating waves, each one arriving with greater numbers and decreased available time. The player must clear these waves before the countdown runs out, creating constant pressure and a rhythm of rising difficulty. The entire gameplay loop revolves around surviving as many waves as possible while managing speed, combos, and time.

Really liked the sound design and the vibe! The screen shake and sound on a kill is really enjoyable! Nice game :)

Love the concept of the game. Despite not having a mouse while playing, I still managed to make it a few waves with a touchpad. The contrasts between the greyscale and red were a nice touch, and it was quite enjoyable to play.

Lol if you stand at the right position before a wave, you might be able to one shot the entire wave when they spawn in. Did that a few times and the scoreboard text went massive. Cool game!

Developer

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to try my game, which I made in a single day as a personal challenge. I hope you have fun adding up the points! I'll be developing it little by little. Love you all! <3 <3

I liked the 1-bit style with red blood splatters. It's fun to slash, but it lacks a little bit of extra powers! I would've also liked to aim all around my player, not just right and left. Good job!

At first it has been a bit difficult to coordinate the movement and the mouse aim, but once you play a few rounds it gets easier. Its a fun game to play and to compete for the highest score against yourself or others.

I think that the retro art and sound style were a great choice.
