Game description
Play as a loyal dog companion whose bark sends ripples of sound that restore hope. Clear each room, face crashing enemies and uncover journal fragments that reveal the quiet struggles of the home's owner.
Theme interpretation
In Loyal Paws, your bark sends out waves that fight enemies and bring life back to a silent home. It also reflects the absence of waves in anhedonia and ties into the wave-based level progression.

I was thinking would I have liked some roguelike vampire-survivors mechanics, or would that detract from the focus and was the story enough to keep me playing? I think you could argue for both. The notes were a little depressing but also very relatable ;(. I would have liked to see more upswing arc for the owner hahah.
Eventually around room 7+ I realized I could just run from corner to corner without barking and no new enemies would spawn in.
Nice entry though, very cute and wholesome ending.
Nice entry!
The dialogue was a bit sad until the end, and I couldn't tell any difference between the enemy types.
There were ways to cheese the enemies by staying in certain positions, I think a ranged enemy prevent that.
The difficulty was a bit low and the gameplay started feeling repetitive, but maybe pickups or upgrades would spice it up!
I liked the confetti effect from defeating the enemies, that was satisfying!
Good job, I enjoyed it! I'm always going to think that this is what dogs are doing when they bark.
I thought the waves 4 - 9 were a bit too alike, but other than that I enjoyed it. Loved getting to meet the owner at the end!
impressed
Very funny and cute game! I love the vibes of it. Music and art are awesome!
Can't say the same about gameplay. It was fun at first. But later on it was becoming more and more tedious. Difficulty progression seems only to affect enemies' hp and damage and wave time. You can kite them infinitely so it's basically just more time until they all explode lol XD I think this is the weakest point of the game.
Don't get me wrong, I understand this is just a small funny jam game. And I've totally enjoyed it! But adding a couple more interesting enemies wouldn't hurt. Like a bomb that explodes or a fast wasp. Anything original that will bring more challenge for a player
Other than that great job! I love dogs!
Interesting mix of a enemy waves and story progression. Liked particles effects and tense music. Nice job!
I love the exploding particle effects, very well done!
It was hard to know when to stop playing, is it endless? Some indicator of when the game would end and how long it would take would be nice!
Here are my discoveries in order they hit me:
Fun game, I especially like these little texts between waves ¦3
If we are going to pretend this is a serious game development, I would suggest adding some gameplay progression along the way (basically, after copying move-and-shoot, copy everything else from all such games ¦3)
This was really cool! I like the movement, and the interpretation of the theme was funny. Some issues I ran into was that sometimes an enemy would spawn on/inside the player and instantly hurting me, which felt a little unfair. And also, the hitbox for the dog is a bit too big I think, as you sometimes take damage without even being close to an enemy. I feel like I couldn't reach them to attack without taking damage myself. Otherwise a really cool idea and the art is good too!
Thank you so much for playing and leaving such thoughtful feedback! 😊 I've been working on the hitbox issue today and released a fix. I will tackle the spawning issue next. Those are really great points, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share them.
