Game description
A roguelike tactic card game

Theme interpretation
I want to create a felling of enemy wave, and the felling of RIDE the waves. Enemies and cards are like the tide, players need to carefully consider the actions to be a good WAVE RIDER.

Wow what a cool game! I love deck builders and found this really challenging. And so polished? The game over screen is GREAT and the UI works wonderfully.  There was no audio for me, maybe it doesnt exist yet?

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed it!

I caught a fever during the last week of the Jam period, which made it quite hard for me to add the audio part. However, I would keep polishing the game, adding a tutorial and audio for it. Hope I could achieve something at the end!

Very cool and fun deck builder! I was a little confused when it first started but I restarted and got it down! I do think some tutorial text or explanation on how to play/what's happening would be useful but I figured it out eventually! Overall fun idea!

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you enjoyed it! Indeed, the missing tutorial and explanation adds some trouble and confusion. I will definitely append them in later version!

Cool game, a very fun deck builder. Currently the starting deck might have too many useless cards, I was often left doing nothing on my turns.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Indeed, the starting deck requires adjustment to improve the beginning experience, I will definitely polish this part!

Nice one!

I failed first time but not entirely sure what happened, if I got hit by enemy or something, would be nice to add some description.

I think overall it lacked a bit of description and explanation of what's happening, but you can figure it out by playing, and for a one month jam I totally get it anyway.

I like the mechanics and the card diversity. UI and graphics are pretty cool as well.

Very good submission!

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed it.

That's a very good suggestion, I will add the death cause later (just like The Binding of Isaac)! Aport from that, more polish and adjustment are in progress, hoping I could refine a better version!

Oof suicided into the wall on round 10!

This was a very fun game, great work!

I'm not much of a deck-builder player, but you made it easy enough to fumble through without knowing the difference between exhaust and the discard pile (maybe that's why I stacked up so many injuries/bleed/daze cards).

For something so simple, you nailed the feel.  It reminded me of Eador: Genesis a bit with the static sprites in combat.

I hope you keep developing it!

Cool game! Felt similar to playing Slay the Spire. Throw in some sfx and the game will feel more polished :)

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you had a good time! I will keep polishing the game, adding the missing effects!

Neet game with a pretty addicting game play loop. The game feel on the cards is great. The text could have been larger and a bit of music and sound effects when hitting things could of improved things. Cool entry, congrats.

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed the game! I caught a fever during the last week, leaving me no time for visual effect, sound effect, and numerical polishing. I will keep polishing these parts in the later time!

Nice "Into the Breach meets Slay the Spire" gameplay vibe. Balance seemed too easy for me but anyway - good job!

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed the game! I will keep polishing the game, adding more enemies and challenges, and tuning the numerical part!

Okay this is really cool. I played for a long time until I died in round 6 I think. Nice balance btw, how many testruns did that take you? Kudos if this is a solo project

There was no audio - right? Is that a bug or did you not add any? Also I think the open source requirement could be a little more... open :D

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed the game! I guess I have spent a couple of days to test the difficulty, and I do think there are still so much to do for the numerical part.

I caught a fever during the last week, leaving me no time for the visual effect and sound effect. I will keep polishing the game, hoping to achieve a good one!

I think the project zip file is held in the GitHub link page, although the dev log is not traced due to network reason in the last month…

A small project with an interesting gameplay, can be quite addictive if done right and is quite different from any other I've seen. Being able to slay multiple enemies in one sweep of the sword feels really good too.

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you had a good time. I will keep polishing the game in the future!

A nice little game. Card games are not usually my style, but I enjoyed the roguelike tactical aspect. It got quite chaotic after some rounds.

Developer

Thanks for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed the game! The chaotic problem you mentioned is also my concern, I did not have enough time for the numerical tuning and mechanics polishing. Now look back at it, I believe a smaller map and fewer enemies would improve the experience.
