Game description
Naughty ghosts are tormenting the good ghosts of the graveyard and you've been hired to send them to the afterlife. Using the "Toast Ghost 666," try different wave combos to get the "Wanted" ghost types into the center line and hit "Capture." But be careful! If you capture any non-wanted ghosts you'll lose reputation points. If you lose too many reputation points, or if any Wanted ghosts escape, you lose.

Theme interpretation
We use EMF waves from our "Toast Ghost 666" device to interact with the ghosts. A few waveforms are on the device and are emitted as particles when it's turned on.

This was a really good interpretation of the theme. The visuals are top notch. Wasn't too clear where I was supposed lead the ghosts or which wave did which. I think an easy level at the start of the game could have helped. Congrats on your entry.

I'd write more, but I see my issues were already stated in almost every comment (difficulty, notes, tutorial). Cool job, I'd like to try again after the jam if u do these (IDK if it was just a jam project or u continuing). Good job 👏 (especially art), shame I couldn't enjoy it properly yet 😕

I couldn't discern how the waves were affecting the ghosts, so I ended up letting the bad ones get away!

Cute aesthetic and nice music!

I really like this game! I think I'm just dumb and didn't understand, but I did find it a little confusing. Other than that though, I really liked it!

Insane concept/idea and very well made game!! But I don't like that I have to test over and over some random waves to see which does what. Maybe have in-game notes for players who just want to play, but leave it optional for those who want the challenge.

For sure, an in-game note system was in development but we cut it for time management. Just ran out of time to squeeze it in there in time for the jam! Thanks so much for playing!

Graveyard Shifts stands out immediately for its excellent visuals and strong artistic identity. The graphics are very well crafted, charming, and highly consistent, giving the game a lot of personality. Innovation is also a major strength, with creative mechanics and a concept that feels fresh and original.

For new players, however, the game can feel quite demanding at first. The tutorial is detailed but long, and the amount of information presented early on can be overwhelming. A more gradual introduction of mechanics could help make the experience more accessible and allow players to fully appreciate the game’s ideas.

Overall, Graveyard Shifts shows a lot of creativity and polish. With some refinements to onboarding and early gameplay clarity, it has great potential to become an even more engaging and rewarding experience.

We would have loved to include a tutorial and a better ramping up of difficulty; alas, we ran out of time. Thanks for playing and commenting!
