Game description
This game is a mystery inspired heavily by "Return of the Obra Dinn", with elements of point-and-click adventure and visual novel storytelling.
The game's most appealing features are:

1. Your quirky and endearing Saja (Korea's grim reaper) partner
2. Deduction mechanics where you must match the wave, name, and location to restore each soul's identity
3. An emotional story
4. A meticulously crafted ending sequence

I'd be truly grateful if you play through to the very end!
* If you're not Korean, please refer to the information on the game page—it will greatly help you understand the game.

Theme interpretation
The game's title, "The Last Wave", carries multiple meanings.
It represents the final sign left behind by a soul burdened with "han."
It symbolizes a final wave goodbye—a farewell gesture.
And it hints at a sign that only disappears at the very end of the game.

True to the theme of "waves," We've woven several layers of meaning into the word "Wave".
Some parts are intentionally abstract to avoid spoilers, but I hope you'll play through to the end and discover them for yourself!

Incredible entry. Very interesting story that managed to oscillate between dark/somber and light/heartwarming, and with a very clever use of the theme with the "soul syncing". Absolutely beautiful. Also the music in this game is LIT. Thank you for this entry.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I wanted to make a story that has some funny moments even in the sadness of tragic situations, so I'm happy that came across. I can't compose music myself, but I listened to tons of free music trying to find the right tracks. I worked especially hard to get the timing right with the music in the ending scene haha. Thanks so much for the awesome feedback!

Delight of a game. Reminded me a lot of Phoenix Wright games. I liked the muted and consistent art style and the plot was fun. Very of it's own world but kept grounded enough to be understandable. Puzzle difficult was solid, nothing felt too bad but you had to correlate disparate pieces of info. The UI had a few hiccups like the opening text being really slow and the knobs being a little hard to manipulate but overall was very pretty and effective. The music was fun very Phoenix Wright coded. Could have used a small amount more sound effects. The art was really good and really clean. Overall fantastic game, perfect length. Compelling story games are hard mode in game jams and you knocked it out of the park. Loved every minute with it.

I'm also a huge fan of the Phoenix Wright series, and I think it influenced the overall atmosphere quite a bit. Funny enough, I didn't realize it while making the game—it only hit me after I finished it lol.

I totally agree with you about the UI issues. I really wanted to fix those during development, but unfortunately ran out of time. If I ever get the chance to release this game officially, I'd definitely love to polish those parts you mentioned and add more sound effects too!

I really wanted to create a story-driven game that would leave an impression on as many people as possible, so I'm thrilled it seems to have worked! It feels like all those late nights spent struggling through the coding, art, and writing really paid off.

Thank you so much for the detailed and thoughtful feedback, and I'm really happy you enjoyed playing the game!

Nice story game

Congratulations for completing it on time

I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I had a lot of doubts about whether 1-2 people could finish this in a month, but I'm fortunate that we were able to deliver the experience we intended. Thank you!

Truely a solid game, carefully designed and well executed.
This game pulls you in to the story, then quickly dribbles you to the end right before puzzle fatigue might kick in.
Quick 20 min in and out, but you get to savor every minute you spend.

Developer

Thank you for playing and leaving feedback! I put a lot of thought into creating a smooth onboarding experience for players, so I'm glad it worked well. I was worried the puzzles might feel tedious since this game has 20+ minutes of playtime within a short development period, but I'm relieved you enjoyed it! Thanks again!

Really solid game. Nice art style, puzzles felt clever without being convoluted. Well done.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Since the game uses Korean names, I was worried whether the clues would come across clearly, so I'm relieved to hear that. Thanks for leaving feedback!

I'm so glad this came up on my queue. So rarely do I give all 5s in a Game Jam. This is phenomenal and I hope your team continues to make great work like this!

Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to leave feedback!

I didn't have a lot of time to work on it, but I tried to improve the quality across various aspects of the game, and I'm glad that came through!

Played to the very end, loved the vibes! And the dialogue had me burst out laughing haha - you really made a creative interpretation of the theme, it works really well!

I'm so glad the game was to your taste! I was really worried about whether the fun of the original Korean version would translate well into English, so I'm relieved to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you for the feedback!
