I love the re-playbility, its very easy to get suckered into keep playing, especially with all the arsenal upgrades. My issue is i can never really get far into the first phase. But I love this concept a lot, and the fact you can join the mage.

I might have reeeeaaaally enjoyed your game <3
Just awesome what a fun game you managed to create within just a week! *-*
I enjoy the concept of this game a lot. I liked the decision making of having to choose between units and buildings. I found the dialogue interaction when failing especially fun. I also really enjoyed being on the side of the enemies!
However, I felt discouraged to continue playing the game because it felt like I needed to put in a lot of time into grinding through early runs where I was unable to do anything meaningful. This was due to needing to constantly spend my currency on temporary units rather than the buildings to survive. I'm sure it gets more fun when you unlock more of the upgrades but progress to do so was not as fun as I would have liked. I think letting units survive between waves would have allowed me to use the buildings more. I also felt like I was doing something wrong because I wasn't able to do anything during the prep phase when I joined the monsters due to lack of currency spent trying to survive.
I do think this game is very promising and could be very enjoyable with a bit more tweaking and balancing. Oh and I thought it was a great interpretation of the theme too!
Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely rebalance it/change some stuff, units were actually staying at the start but at some point I have realized that buying a lot of units isn't really punishing and wanted progress to be not just perma upgrades between runs but also knowledge being an upgrade by itself. "If you know how many units you'll need for a particular wave then you can invest the rest on buildings", is what I was aiming for. But in the end as you can also tell I couldn't balance it nicely which made early game grindy and late game pretty easy, so appreciate your feedback a lot! I will definitely improve and also will consider balance part from the start next time, not as something "I can fix later".
I'm a big fan of roguelites and this one is really fun. I especially like the risk/reward of the economy.
Mega fun, played this for ages and will probably play again. Would love to see it updated further after the jam!
Main thing I would like is a bit of rebalancing. The early game is super punishing, I had to replay the first couple of waves a lot of times to build up enough econ from corruption points to get past them. Then when I got past that I had loads of econ and could build an unstopable wall of upgraded archers that would blast through tons of waves and destroy all the human bases when I was finally corrupted. Still super fun though!
Really great! I love the mechanics and it feels like just the right amount of difficulty and progression to feel like you're getting better every time. Only wish that i could skip the dialogue after the first time. I especially liked learning how to ration my money and how many troops were needed for each wave, awesome job on this!
this has some good bones for a new type of survivors games. Like a ping pong back and forth wave climbing archetype. Trying to better improve your self. Reminds me of when i was a kid where I would 1v1 myself ina game of chess but like I knew my own move so i always allowed 1 side to win. If you can avoid that scenario I think you CAN make something here more through commercial release. As of now no it needs more polish. Sounds, better art than asset pack. better buildings more effects and buildings. But I do truly see some game development potential here for something if you choose to continue and refine this.
Thanks for an amazing and comprehensive feedback, pointing out the problems I exactly think I have! For sounds I sadly didn’t have enough time while last 2-3 days I was busy and for art I’m trying to better myself. I will definitely try to polish it more/add content afterwards. Thanks for the encouragement!
