such a fantastic game, this goes beyond what you expect from a jam game. with a b1t more polish i can see myself buying and playing this off steam 😍
Thanks! We are currently working hard to add the extra layers of polish and feature completeness that we simply couldn't fit into the jam's timeline anymore. It was a blast to participate and deliver this - hopefully it will continue to grow!
thank you so much! High praise! :-O
It's almost all perfect. The combat felt good, but we are encouraged to avoid it as we only lose health and don't level up. Once in a village, I picked a bunch of things up, not really sure why, but that's what we do. Then, when I saw a courtyard with about 5 big, new, enemies in it, I maximised the view, and the controls were not great from then on; I couldn't turn around in time to see my attacker, or a way out of the dead end I found myself in. Fortunately, there are a great many redeeming features.
Hey,
Thanks for your feedback! Could you specify where you got stuck in a dead end? I tried to make sure there's always a way out, but if I messed up some of the geometry, I appreciate any pointers.
This shader is awesome, great mood in this game. The movement was super smooth and I loved the camera adjusting for the dialogues. Great work on the music, it enhances the environment so much
I uploaded the soundtrack and sheet music for those interested: https://odrez.itch.io/the-plight-of-the-cracked-soundtrack
Amazingly done game! Especially for the limited timeframe.
The game has the potential, that's for sure.
Thank you! It was a blast to make and we are currently mapping out post-jam support, so keep an eye out!
Awesome.
Awesome.
Wow, amazing job for 10 days. Looks amazing, really love the general art style, though I had some problems with understanding where I should go because of it, fell of the map in the first 10 seconds of the game. Controls felt very unresponsive, had hard time playing because of that. In general, though, very good job for that period of time!
It's a good game, but I couldn't finish it because I'm absolutely terrible at souls-like games. And for some reason, camera lock broke at one point.
Do messages just pop up randomly? I can't believe I got the stupid message I put in when I play tested this. That being said, this game is still way to hard for me who has never play souls-likes before so I just ran past everything again. The difficulty was much better than before though. This is seriously impressive for just 10 days though, good job!
You should see the message of the last ten or so players. Every time a new one gets submitted the order changes a bit where each spawns.
Also you are playing this game how a lot of players play souls-likes in general - so you just picked up the strat fast :D
Thanks for the kind words!
Wow, I’m just flabbergasted by the attention that clearly went into this. Well done!
Thanks!
crazy work making a soulsike and getting to work on web! well done!
Thanks! Missed out on a lot of sleep in the process!
haha i can imagine!
We sadly left in a change that broke how fall damage works on the way to the boss fight. It IS possible to reach the bottom, if you roughly follow the path at 13:43 carefully. Just watch your health whenever you make a drop, the combined health loss taken for each jump needs to be low enough to make it through. We’re sorry for all the headaches this part causes.
Anyway, major SPOILER WARNING for this video of course:
