I found this interesting to play! The physicality of the spaceship controls was great and makes the spaceship feel more like a clunky mining vehicle that fit the situation. I thought finding the notes to piece together the instructions to beat the game was good fun too!
I do wish there had been more reason to use the spaceship beyond the initial mission. It seemed a shame to learn how to use it only for it to become a puzzle of sorts that didn't need to be used. I think this could be better if there was more consequence to not carrying out the aliens mission.
I enjoyed the experience overall, good game!
Thank you so much for trying the game and seeing it through! I'm super glad you appreciated parts of the game, and thank you so much for the great feedback, I agree with you, having the ship controls and the "mission" play a greater part in the gameplay loop is a great Idea that was definitely in the plans, though I had to cut back a lot (too much) on the vision to get to a state where it would be finished by the deadline, and the overall experience definitely suffers because of it in my opinion as well. I may have left multiple comments on your game page, not sure, It seemed like my browser was having trouble when I was trying to comment on your game! Either way, it deserves multiple comments! I loved it! XD
Great to see another Unreal game, and a space sim no less! Even though it was basic I actually really enjoy what was there, I like space sims that are less "arcadey" and have you doing stuff around the cockpit. The story elements was a nice twist, I managed to get to the end without mining a single thing for the aliens :D
I think a few extra audio cues would have been nice, e.g. when receiving a transmission, when the power goes out, and when the power was just about to come back.
Overall great job, very impressive work for just one week!
Hey my fellow Unreal Dev!! Glad to see you here and thank you so much for trying out the game!! I appreciate the kind words and i'm super glad you were able to make it to the end, and that you didn't give a single mineral to the evil aliens!! Thank you for the feedback, I agree completely, some more audio cues and just better audio design in general would have helped the experience alot (another would have been directional audio to help guide attention to where the alien ships warp in, which i actually coded in but was cut off during the build). I played your game as well and loved it, and left a comment and rating as well!! Can't wait to see more from you in the future!! :)
A sliver of a space opera, made in just a week! I really enjoyed the story... The people operating the warp hole sure are fussy about the code though!
Nice job, I had fun cracking the planet :)
Very interesting game. Took me a bit to understand all the controls, but otherwise really fun!
